Wednesday I tried a new cardio dvd that does intervals interspersed with the fast marching. It’s a good 35 minutes of work. Most of the way through it I thought *Oh, I should use the abdominal breathing I’ve been practicing*. I am so DUH!

A friend and I went out to dinner after a short hike through an herb garden. Lovely place.

Track run for me today and then a short cardio dvd at home.

      Happy runs, All!  :::HUGS:::

Judy-your hIke in an herb garden made me think of this "I must get there" place in metro Detroit. A lavender farm.

Getting ready to run some Lakefront.

        Have a great day!

I'm gonna post early today in case I don't get back. Yesterday was a crazy day at work (my next two months are going to be busier than I think I've ever been in any job). Got home and ran 8.5 miles - felt a little better than the day before but the humidity was definitely out in full force and slowing me down. I'm hoping to just run 4-5 tonight, then Pilates tomorrow night and no running, then the Baltimore 10 Miler on Saturday and my running club's 10K on Sunday.

Lisa, DWD is very tempting. I don't yet have Wisconsin, and I remember just how beautiful Devil's Lake is from the relay. And coincidentally, yesterday my boss and I decided to postpone the conference call I set up for that Friday until we have more information in October, so I have nothing scheduled on 7/11. It would make a nice birthday present to myself (although I think I already bought myself several birthday presents when shopping for DH's birthday last month). And I checked my training plan, which says 7 miles easy Friday, 8 miles easy Saturday and 12 Sunday - so I could combine all that into a 27 mile run on Saturday. Let me check flights into Milwaukee and Chicago.

Yes, it is humid this morning and I LOVE IT!!!  4 miles and sweat this morning, my kind of run!   I know those of you in the warmer climates cannot comprehend my happiness, but I so enjoy this type of day, happens so rarely, especially this year.  Wish I didn't have to go to work and suffer the AC, I just go to my car on my breaks to warm up.  I am a strange person.

Lisa....saw Amtrak this morning and thought of you and Kaite!   I definitely will take you up on your offer next time you go to Chicago!  Have fun.

Hmm. I can fly from Reagan National to Madison, WI for the same price or less than I can from BWI to either Chicago or Milwaukee. Return flight is even direct. And rent a car there for the entire weekend for $50. And if I fly out of National I can take Metro and not pay for parking.  Ima check with DH tonight after work but I want to do this.

Run to live; live to run

5.2. Still didn't need to tape the toe. I proactively paused a few times foe a minute or two but no stinging or burning. Now this am I found a small flee on Quincy. Darn it. He is on flee meds. He was gnawing like no tomorrow on his back leg so I had dh hold him so I could look. Has a bite then I saw the flee. So now waiting for dh to get back with special treatment for him. He hasn't had flees since we picked him up for the very first time as a little puppy.  Hammy seems okay but now will treact both and their bedding is getting a nice hot wash. Sigh.

Hi! Decided to ride after work today.  Hope I don't regret that--gonna be hot.

Last night we were walking the dogs and saw two fox kits playing!  Right along Beach Blvd there is a vacant lot with a large oak tree near the road.  We think there is a burrow under the tree roots.  Was so funny to watch them play.

                  Have a great day everyone!

                  Tessa

Lisa and Karen, sorry, count me out for DWD. The cheapest flights from Los Angeles or Burbank to either Chicago or Madison for that weekend start with "4" and go up from there. Way up.

Marjorie, I have 21 states so far: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Wyoming. If all goes well I shall add Idaho, Connecticut, and Rhode Island before the end of the year. Ugh on the flea. Do you use Frontline or something similar on the dogs?

Ginny, come out here and warm up. Bah.

Susan, how neat on the fox kits! I'm sure you're glad to see BF back. I will refrain from jokes about "the fleet's in". One of the fringe benefits (?) of being a regular RenFaire playtron is the number of songs I know about sailors -- most of them questionable at best.

Woke up late but did 2 miles anyway. I shall go to the gym at lunch. Cussing because I forgot my ActiveLink this morning, it's still on the bathroom counter. Planning to go home and revel in not having anyone else there.

Marjorie, forgot to tell you that email thing you posted the other day was spot on and hilarious. Poor Quincy.

Ginny, not strange at all - especially after this past winter. I have to keep a sweater or jacket in my office all summer, the a/c is just ridiculous. And then every night I go home and turn the one at home up, then DH turns it back down, and on and on and on. Don't even get me started on the grocery store - I swear they keep it cold enough that they don't need to make the frozen section any colder than the aisles!

Susan, if it's gonna be hot, better to ride than to run at least! Have a fun one. And glad BF is back in port.

Tessa, bummer. I can get flights starting with 3, which I'm willing to do. It takes a pretty good destination for me to be willing to pay 4 or more for a flight! Looking at your states, it's pretty obvious we live on opposite sides of the country. I have 22 states, but only 8 that are the same as you. I am hoping to get 3 more (Connecticut, Rhode Island and Delaware) before the end of the year, 4 if I do Wisconsin.

Run to live; live to run

Tessa yes. He has flea control every month for the last 6 years. First flea since we got him. He seems okay now. Dh will have to watch while I'm gone. Fir work I'm gone from tomorrow to Thursday.  Love the state list. Impressive.

Ginny remember we turned off the ac at Hatfield in our room and it was wonderful.

Karen glad you liked the email thing. Most my flights are over 400. Charleston is expensive. I love when I can occasionally get below 400 or even 300

                        Tessa

Marjorie, I can see how Charleston might be expensive, it's not a hub city and those outside of the big hub networks tend to be pricey.

But Los Angeles to Chicago, both major hubs, should have some reasonable prices!
