Tolerant Tuesdays (DAILIES) (Read 20 times)

Damaris, I know some CPA's that I wonder how on earth they passed the exam...it's hard and some of them can't even seem to add correctly.  Gotta wonder.

Cathy I'll certainly start posting them.  Would you like a sample for one day in December or just wait til Jan 1st when I intend to start?  Lisa's friend Katie gave me some wonderful tips on bullet journaling and I'm going to see if that will help me stay motivated all year long.

    Tessa

Liz, I had not read that about the dogs, so went and looked it up. Ugh. Poor woman and poor family and poor dogs, too. There are still plenty of unanswered questions. I am not sure they were watching over her  out of any love for her, I'd guess they stayed where the food was. And with all due respect to the coroner, how is the fact that a woman was menstruating and had a tampon inserted proof positive that she was not sexually assaulted? (Bluntly, tampons don't occupy all the available space, and there are alternative ways to assault a person.) Ugh. Shudder. Enough said.

And just because your coordinator is out doesn't mean that you should be doing all the "woman's work". They can make their own coffee.

Tell Ruger he's a big wuss if he's afraid of the cold.

      Judy, outside is very important.

Damaris, hope you can accomplish what you need to do and still make the party.

Agree on the follow up question. How DID he pass the bar?

Karen, ouch on the dental work for DH. Hope you itemize! Do you have an HSA or FSA?

Diane, sympathy also on the medical bills. That book sounds interesting. My main concern is I usually get online so much later than the rest of you!

Laura, hope you avoid the cold.

Sandy, nice run with the fast women!

Commute -- I am used to it, it's mostly by bus so I can read or work (or sleep), and I certainly can't afford to move closer -- also I live close to my mum and my sister and SIL and I don't want to give that up. No jobs of the type of work I do in my area and I like my job.

42 degrees this morning. For the first time since we turned off the AC I actually closed the bedroom window!

Cathy, I personally hate Vegas but it sounds like you are using that to do a number of trips to much more enjoyable areas. Love Valley of Fire. If you are going that far, I would recommend driving to St. George so you can go through the Virgin River Gorge.

3.25 this morning with RN. Chilly so we moved fast. Not so windy, the house down the street righted their inflatables which is a good thing. When it was windy a lot of the Nativity scene blew over and it looked as if the Wise Men had stopped down the pub on their way to Bethlehem and were now passed out.

And my rude giggle for the day: I went to 7-11 and the app showed off some of the coupon offers they have. One was for Trojans. "Buy 2, get $2 off." You know, if someone's buying 2 of those, I sincerely hope that two ARE getting off...

OMG Tessa ROFLMAO....as for the book the questions are basic but designed to be used by anyone...each person would have a different background/experience so would answer differently so your late posts would not be a problem.  I'll bring in the book tomorrow and post that day's question.

I have my 6 month dental cleaning Wed and have to get blood work done for the kidney doc appt. on the 3rd.  Be interesting to see what my creatinine and eGFR are this week.  When I did the PH I had blood drawn on the following Monday and it was interesting to see how that affected my liver enzymes. Certainly shows that at least for me effort like that does have a muscle breakdown impact even if I wasn't sore.  By the next month they were back to normal.

I read the article also and find it fishy to say her dogs did it with no provocation...I own a pit mix and he's the sweetest dog and a big coward too.  Mine all learn from puppies that teeth on flesh are forbidden...they know "no bite".  But dogs are predators and who's to say she wasn't acting like prey.

What a boring day. Blah. Did some audits this morning but have more to do tomorrow. Spreading out the work load so I actually have work to do this week LOL.

I did book a hair apt next week. I am going to fix this redish stuff plus I want to go dark (with a few highlights) Smile My hair girl increased prices by about 30%...and with the hour drive plus the increase..I am not sure I can afford it long term. The place I am going to try is about 10 minutes from home and cheaper! We will see!

Judy -Enjoy that outside run today!

Docket – Ugh, hope you don’t miss the holiday party today! Good luck on the run tonight. Funny, I saw that episode of Shameless, too! Freakin love that show.

Diane – Id be up for the question of the day!  WOOHOO on the steps! I have been walking all the buildings today so I will probably do the same for steps! Exciting about the rower!! Ever since you have been talking about it I am tempted to get on and try it again. Agree that the story with the dogs is fishy. Very sad.

Laura – NOOOOOOOO you can’t be getting sick! I hope the run helped! Take some vitamins. Orange juice. AHH. I do not have a problem with pits or pit bull mixes…but I am not going to lie – all this news will make me second guess owning one. I can’t help it. Its sad that its like that.

Karen - $4700 worth on dental work?! GOOD LORD. LOL at Riley and your comment about putting on pants. HAHA. I hope you are able to get a run in after DH’s dentist! Hope he got some good drugs, too. Sounds like it might be painful.

Sandy – Woohoo, nice 6 miles this morning! Glad you were able to catch up with the girls Smile You know, a week without your cell phone is not necessarily a bad thing Smile Sounds perfect to me. The episode she is referring to on Shameless is on the current season – the only reason I know is we have Showtime for free until the end of January. I have been watching new episodes! YES. Ruger is just like a toddler! I love a potluck!!! YUM. I think those are much better than catering in. Homemade is better haha. We were supposed to have one but all the guys didn’t want to participate. Of course. Luckily our company decided to give us some money to have a breakfast catered in. My point is potlucks are better LOL. Your salad sounds yummy!

Cathy – UGH on that dang foot! I would be over it, too. Sad If it were me I would run anyway – I would be so tired of dealing with it I would just say “F IT!” LOL. Don’t listen to me though. Awesome on the Vegas trip! I guess you won’t be going to see “Thunder from down under” – the male strippers (I wanna see it!). LOL. What you have planned sounds fun, too Wink I think it is strange about Ruger also. I wonder if there is separation anxiety in there too. He has been very clingy to me lately. Maybe because HCBF is gone more recently. I don’t know..but if he is acting normal while he is there I am hesitant to stop taking him. Blah.  UNREAL about your bill!! Did you do all of this at a dermatologist? I bet that had something to do with it. I think they are considered “specialty”. For some reason that gives them a right to charge more. Either way that sucks. Right in time for Christmas!

Tessa – LOL. I will pass that along to Ruger Smile our post is cracking me up!! LOLOLOL. Probably good they are offering coupons for those - don't hear that many people using them anymore. At least not people my age!

Only an hour to go then im off to the gym!

Ok, I created a separate post titled 365 Tiny Buddha...I posted today's challenge and questions if anyone is interested.

              HuronHeart

My last Tuesday meeting day! It was not too bad as it was just 3 back to back meetings starting at 1 pm. Some meeting days start early and go all day. Next Friday is my last official work day but I did sign a consulting agreement to assist with transition.

3.5 miles on TM this morning.  Easy miles.

I didn’t see the dog mauling story or the coach shooting story. Both so tragic. Our local tragedy is a house fire Sunday night, Mom and Dad made it out but both were injured trying to save their kids, 3 year old died and 1 year old still in hospital. So sad. I drive by the home on my way to work and knew the father when he was a kid.

Lizzie, nice 8.  Hope HCBF takes vacation days instead of losing them. I assume there is no cash out option for not taking them.

Judy, nice outdoor runs for you.

Docket, hope your hearing finished in time for your holiday party.

Diane, I will check out your tiny love challenges.  My goal is to average 10000 over the week.  I am interested in how you like your rowing machine,  I would gladly trade DHs excercise bike, which he never rides, for a rowing machine.

LC, you do not have time to be sick!  I think running outside helps the immune system. Probably a myth but I do feel better after. The only time I feel better after the TM is if I do intervals and that is mostly because am so happy to be done.

Karen. yikes, that is an expensive dental procedure. Hope it didn’t take all day and you were able to get out for a run. I am looking forward to not having to put my pants on in the morning. Lol

Seloc, nice 6 with the fast girls. You are looking for a part time job to keep you busy? The local nursery was looking for part time help, No green thumb here but thought it could be a fun learning experience. If it wasn’t so far from my house I might have applied.  Your salad sounds delicious.

RTurtles, Vegas area in the spring sounds great. We are not big gamblers but like using Vegas as a base.  Lots to see within a day’s drive. Was your medical procedure out of network? That’s a big difference unless you haven’t met any of your deductible for the plan year.

Arimathea, I do not envy your commute. Mine is 15 minutes and if I take the back way in I might meet 2 or 3 cars. The joys of rural living, no traffic. Ha.

                HuronHeart-Kathy

Mid week hello!  RD today, 4.3 miles yesterday.  I put my hame into the hat for the lottery for a 50 mile race in July (Tahoe Rim Trail), will find out on New Year's day if I got picked.  If not that one, then another one.  Because I'm up to 6 miles now, dammit!

Don't get me started on the unqualified federal judge nominations... I've practiced in federal court since 2002 doing litigation.  Trials, motions in limine, and yes, even Daubert motions.  I'm more qualified than many of the names being put forth.  It's an insult to hand out judicial nominations like they're ribbons for participating in the current administration's bogus dog-and-pony show.  Okay, rant over...

Seloc, so envious of you going to Mexico!  Where exactly are you going?  (Sorry if I missed this earlier)  Nice run with the speedy girls today.

Tessa, laughing at your rude giggle for the day.  I think people in CA are used to driving a while to commute.  Mine is typically an hour each way, driving and taking Bart.

Karen, for that kind of money, does he get a spiffy gold grill?

DHuff, maybe post the little Buddha question in the daily thread, so it can kind of roll into our chat for the day?  Just a thought.

Turtles, ugh, sorry your foot is still bothering you!  I know you took a break for a while, but I can't remember if you ever saw someone to get a diagnosis?  PF?

Lizzie, nice run this morning.  In the winter, I always get highlights and "low-lights" in my hair since it seems to suit the shorter days and my winter mood better.  It's expensive, but I like the person I'm go to so I don't want to change...

Hi Damaris, LC, Judy, Huron, and everyone else! Off to fix dinner.

                    WINE o'clock somewhere!

Late check in and hello to all.

Diane, I agree with Margaret, keep it in the dailies.

Tessa, funny about Thunder from Down Under.

Damaris, I would consider seeing them in Vegas too, but I go with my Mom, and she wouldn't appreciate it - and I would be mortified to go with her.

Woot Woot, gonna be 76 and sunny tomorrow.  Hopefully I can get 2-3 miles in without losing a lung.  I don't feel bad, but sound terrible still.

                      Nighty night all.

You usually can see some of the Thunder guys walking around the casino where the show is handing out flyers. When I've seen them, they've been shirtless.

Rest day or possibly cardio/strength later, I will see how the foot feels.  It's been sore off and on.  I'm sick of it.     Booked a flight to Vegas for the first week of April during spring break, we are planning on hanging out on the strip as well as taking the kids to the Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and Hoover Dam.  There's a 5K in Vegas that weekend also.

Diana, the injury recovery is slow going!  I honestly don't know whether resting or just doing short runs is better.  PF is so stubborn.  I want to keep a minimal level of fitness to do the 5K winter series with DD.  We have some snow predicted later this week, but not much, 2-4 inches or so.  The temp was start to drop down later in the week also, with the big chill coming next week.  A high of 2 degrees predicted for next Tuesday!  I bet you don't miss that.    We just planned a trip Nevada and Arizona in April, I am hoping to be able to get some hiking in at least!  Nice running for you!  Sedona is really nice, the trail run must have been spectacular!

Cathy:  it does get soooo frustrating, I feel your pain DH had to deal with PF, finally got surgery after years of trying various methods and spending $$ on insoles, shoes, etc.  To this day, he NEVER wears sandals or go barefoot.  Your plan sounds like it will keep you fit/conditioned for short runs....... No, DO NOT miss the 'vortex' bone-chilling temps for DAYS!!  April should be ideal time for your trip!  Let me know when you will be at the Grand Canyon, can never get enough of seeing the canyon.  What race in Vegas?  I've been looking at some trail races near there.  Hoover Dam is an amazing man-made achievement.

DH took today off but we stayed another night at the work house, and return to northern hours this morning.  He gets off work at 6pm and it's dark, and the road isn't the safest to travel on at night, with all the crazy holiday rush drivers and well, just crazies .....

Monday:  15.1 miles on trail.  Tues:  3.1 TM interval miles to loosen up the stiffness.  Wed: rest.  Thurs:  8.1 interval miles on the TM ....seemed so endless!!  But I was determined to get some speed in......at least once/week, that's the longest I've been on the TM!!  15 min elliptical, 10 min cycle and 20 min core strengthening/weights, WHEW!!  Today:  rest.  Not sure about tomorrow.  The running group, NATRA, has a 5k (social run) planned to commemorate the "Mayan Apocalypse", starts at 5 pm.......will be dark by 5:15 thus colder, brrrr!!  I've become such a wuss whiner, LOL!!  Might get a run in earlier ......if we don't drive to Phoenix to visit DD and GDs.

So I did register for the 26K on Jan. 6:  https://www.aravaiparunning.com/san-tan-scramble/

Seloc:  have fun in Mexico!!  What area?  I don't remember if you mentioned you're going solo?  WTG on the cold 6 miles!!

Tessa:  HAHA!!!  That's a cheap thrill giggle   DH and I are about 5 hrs from Vegas, and we aren't gamblers, not our first choice but we go now and then to catch plays and concerts......the traffic is a nightmare!!

Kathy:  what a sad and tragic event for the family.  That's a good way to transition from FT to 'PT'....smart!  Hope you enjoy some retirement days ahead.  More time for running?

Liz:  do you change hair color when seasons change?  I let my hair grow longer in winters.  Might just be a personality thing.  Hope you like the new change.

Karen:  that sounds like a lot of dental work for DH......in my dental experience, it pretty typical for males to wait till dental problems hurt and by that time, it gets more $$ too.  My own brother is getting a reality check ......and wishing he had listened to me.

Gotta go!  Hello to others I missed!  Be safe and stay warm!
