Tulips on Tuesday Supermoms (Read 14 times)

runnergirl9508

RR: heading out the door soon for 6-7 miles. My 6am PT client cancelled for this morning. She's sore from a dirty girl 5K mud/obstacle run this past weekend.

TR: up before 6 today, dragging me into the kitchen for "pumpkin oatmeal, peeeeease!" He's very chatty this morning too.

NRR: planning to spend most of the day outside, enjoying the sun. Need to weed my flower beds.

      what's a tupil?

RR - SRD.  Damn that 48 hour DOMS, I was really sore yesterday, but today I can barely move.  As I said in my tweet, I have a very sore toe that feels suspiciously like a black toenail, I have never gotten one in 6 years of running.  but I'm wearing navy blue polish so I'll just pretend it doesn't exist.

KR - when I was in the medical tent, one of the students blew up a glove and drew a face on it for him and he was waving it around, saying "talk to the hand".

FR - white veggie lasagna, wedge salad.

Hahaha zorbs- for some reason autocorrect thought that's how tulips should be spelled. That's cute about the hand. I like to walk 20-30 minutes at least once a day on Mon and Tues following a marathon. It seems to help with the DOMS.

          Morning!

rg - Despite the transposition, I read it as Tulips! Smile  Great title...I was worried about starting the thread and having to come up with something creative!  Pre 6am wake up?!  Whoa....NO THANK YOU!

zorbs - I had two black toe nails after a half.  They were NOT pretty, and the nails still aren't the same.  Leanne's post to you was very kind.

          ***********************

RR:  Going to hit the elliptical after work today.  Things still feel tight.  Hoping rest for a few days will do the trick.

BR:  STTN.  He is also a boogery mess.  Doesn't nap well at MILs at all.  One more reason why I can't wait for the school year to end and to be home with my boys for the bulk of the summer.

TR:  Was a living terror last night.  Multiple time outs and spankings.  Ended up in bed by 7:30 which is super early for him.  Was still sleeping when I left so he needed it.  Got an e-mail that he is enrolled in PreSchool for the fall.  Glad they are willing to take our money!  He got in to the same class with his friend from the class he is in now which will be fun.

NRR:  Okay, I love DH, and he does a lot for the family, but I need to vent.  His day ends at 8pm when the boys go to bed.  Mine...not so much.  He worked a full day yesterday and was tired so came to bed at the same time I did (just before 10:30...I was ironing).  He slept until 6:30 this morning.  When was I up?  5 AM.  Like every other freaking day.  I am convinced that he would never be able to pull off the hours that I do.  THEN when leaving, I asked what time he would be home with the boys and his response "I don't know".  I don't need a time to the minute, but give me a general range plus or minus an hour even.  I think that is incredibly rude.  I always tell him when I will be home.  I feel better now.

FR:  Frozen pizza for dinner last night and leftovers for lunch today.

          Upcoming Races:

          Bad Ass Mother Runner

            Morning!

RR - 16k tonight.  My left hip is tight, it's not my IT band, I grastoned it yesterday, something in my quad... I'll spend some time with the foam roller tonight.

KR - spent the afternoon w/ my mom yesterday, they went to MIL's for lunch.  It makes life so much easier to have family close by to juggle the kids to.  Super into dinosaurs right now, we're planning a trip to Drumheller this summer to go to the big dinosaur museum there.  She will die from amazement I think!

TR - I think she's going to be a class clown when she gets older... she has such a guttural laugh and it makes you want to laugh.  She LOVES to do anything that frustrates or gets a rise out of M.

FR - no idea, DH is in charge.

NRR - our old lab ate and was acting hungry last night but then he threw it up over night Sad  Poor guy is so so so skinny.

              Morning!

RR:  Kinda hate DH who got to run along the river in TN this morning.  I think I am going to take C to the track and run circles around him tonight.

KR:  Ugh, I am going to have to stop playdates if he is such a turd when it is time to leave.

NRR:  My clinque packaged showed up yesterday, I love getting stuff in the mail.  Now if only I remembered to put makeup on this morning.

FR:  I am thinking mango black bean salad.  Something yummy that DH won't eat.

              beckykay

RG:  lol, I shouldn't laugh at your client.  Yum, pumpkin oatmeal sounds delish!

Zorbs:  B is too cute.  Yikes on the toenail, I've had too many to count.

Mer:  Ugh, sorry that DH is being a pain.  I HATE when DH tells me he will be home at a certain and then never shows when he says he will.

CA:  I am jealous.  I have no family here and it is causing much gray hair right now.

WorkRant:  I had to look at autopsy photos yesterday and I just can't get them out of my head.  I almost vomited.

RG - LOL on your client, I'd be a mean trainer and work her twice as hard next time to show her what sore is Smile  Enjoy the sun!!  I'm jealous.

zorbs - I don't ever get that more sore 48 hrs DOMS thing.  I've also never had a black toenail.

mer - I hate my dh for his sleep too many days - he stays up later than I do, relaxing, watching TV and gets to sleep in till 7 am almost every day.  Not knowing when he'd be home would also frustrate me.

becky - ha that's why I don't bother to buy makeup.  ooo I wouldn't do well with autopsy photos, I'm glad to stare at spreadsheets all day.

RR: 3-4 miles with R in the stroller and Joan. She's able to run 3-4 miles 2x a week again but is very slow, so the stroller is actually welcome.

TR: So bad yesterday. I had to shut him in his room because he was tantruming so bad and he was body slamming his door. I texted DH to see if he was done with his FD thing so he could come home for moral support, and he couldn't leave and didn't get home until 10pm. R was really good this morning though, and did a good job listening, so I hope he has a better day. R is like that nursery rhyme of the Little Girl with the Chocolate Curl- just a joy to be around when he's good, and hopelessly frustrating when he's bad.

FR: last night was a chicken pasta thing with broccolini and salad. Think I'm going to throw a chuck roast in the crockpot for shredded beef tacos tonight. DH is working nights so I can cook whatever I want Wink

NRR: DH seems to be unsettled again and in the mood for change. We go through this about every oh... 3 years or so? I'm a person who digs into a rut to feel stable, and he feels trapped in the same situation. We are doing fine, though. It just makes me have to step out of my comfort zone to be supportive. It sounds like he has an excellent chance of getting that job in dispatch, and then he's looking to change stuff up with his volunteerism in the FD- can't really say anything more at this point but it would be a big change for us.

RG- I haven't made oatmeal in a while, I should probably do that.

zorbs- ugg I get DOMS too. I feel fine on leg day, and the day after, but that 2nd day I am hobbling around like I'm crippled. I've gotten crazy blisters and chafing to beat the band, but no black toenails here either. LOL at talk to the hand!

Mer- My DH has no concept of time, it is so frustrating. When DH is on day shift he usually sleeps from 10 or 11 to 3:45 am, but then sleeps in a ton on days off to catch up. When he's on nights he sleeps from 7 or 8 am until sometime between noon and 3. I, on the other hand, sleep from 10-5:20 every day, so I don't ever get to sleep in and I feel like I can't complain about being tired when DH has such a crazy schedule. DH gets annoyed when I fall asleep on the couch and will tickle/poke me to wake me up and I get sooo pissed.  Sounds like J and R had a similar attitude yesterday. R actually grabbed another kid's neck and choked him yesterday; I am horrified.

CA- do you think he might have some kind of bowel obstruction or tumor. I love deep baby laughs Smile  We went to Dinosaur national park when I was in the 4th grade, and I still remember it being awesome. I would love to take R one day!

Becky- ooooh maybe I will do the track with R again tomorrow!  Can't wait until track season is over and Heidi doesn't have to coach anymore and can be my running buddy again, her kids love to play with R. Yuck on the photos. I've spent a lot of time around dead people, but nothing I saw was ever grisly- just old people that died peacefully.

                      Bad Ass Mother Runner

Spike - I don't think it's anything cancerous bc he's had blood work and there was nothing abnormal in his red blood cell count, the vet diagnosed him with IBS, but don't really know exactly what that means, he's on antibiotics, plus pain meds for his arthritis (thinking pain might be making him nauseous), he doesn't have a complete obstruction bc he is pooping/peeing, and he had the first episode of throwing up for a few days and then was completely fine for a few weeks, then back to throwing up again.  I don't know what's wrong though... it's hard because we have no idea what food we should feed him or what will sit well and every day he doesn't eat he gets skinnier.   I hope your DH can figure out what he needs to feel settled again.  I dislike a lot of change so that would go against my natural grain also.

CA- our dog Hallie has been pooping and puking in the house over the last few weeks, but I think she's been eating mule poop from the field behind the house and its making her sick. Maybe your dog is eating some kind of plant or dead thing when he goes outside?

Spike - don't think so, they just have a small dog run to do their business in, and it's chainlinked all around.  Our other dog is fine.  He hasn't spent hardly any time outside since he's been sick.  The one thing that makes me wonder if he's in pain is that DH took him outside in the main yard fetching last week on a perky day for just 5 minutes, but then he was miserable and sick for 4-5 days after that.  When the vet examined him she mentioned that his joints are very stiff and full of arthritis.

spike/CA - We went through a stint where our dog was puking all the time.  We ended up having to change his food.  We were paying a pretty penny and when the price reached $70 a bag DH said no more, so we are switching again.  We have a similar problem to spike as Marv goes outside and eats poop from whatever animal was in our yard.  Gross.  Now we are dealing with the cat puking...changing the food again and have pills to give him.  These pets are a lot of work sometimes!

spike - J  has definitely turned 3 and is a total terror.  So many people say 3 is worse than two and just in the couple weeks that we have had a three year old, I totally agree.  He is horrible.  It took all of 16 minutes last night for DH to be done with him.  Sad, because we aren't enjoying him.  I just want to shake him.  He keeps picking up H, taking away toys, kicking, etc. The worst part is I look at H and think we will have to go through it all again!  Ahhhh!  I have been wanting to do some research on strategies to teach J that he can use when he gets mad.  Things that are okay to do when mad...not the crap he is doing right now...

CAR - I can't wait for H to get older/bigger.  I think he is going to beat J up a lot.  He already likes to "tackle" him which I think is hilarious!  OMG, sleeping in until 7 is my "treat" on the weekends.

becky - I couldn't handle autopsy pictures...you have quite the job!  I couldn't leave  the house without make up!  Helps that I have my own personal stash in the basement!  (I sell Mary Kay!)

Mer- my daycare lady has had specialist people to come into the daycare to teach them about handling emotions- they tried to teach them about hugging yourself and telling whoever is bothering you to stop. Hasn't worked too well. R is being a jerk, he was a pretty easy 2 year old, so I was kinda expecting it to manifest at age 3. I was thinking last night that his attitude was good birth control. There are so many things that make me want another baby, and so many things that make me want to be done. The pro/con list is pretty evenly matched :/
