What is that big yellow thing in the sky?! I havent seen it in weeks!
October 4 - Milwaukee, WI - 26.2
November 14 - Richmond, VA - 26.2
March 21 - Virginia Beach, VA - 26.2
7.2 miles for me. Heading to core soon!
Awful run. Haha. I guess I was due for a rough one. I think it was a combination of being starving and not being able to slow down. I was doing 10 minute miles in 70 dewpoint - which is fast for me. Maybe I couldnt slow down because I wanted it over - haha. Anyways, that ends meat 45 for the week!
We dont have too much going on this weekend and its GREAT!! We have to do some adulting - Sams, Kroger, etc. I have to clean this house at somepoint. I am hoping my wedding planner gets back to me about the other florist apt, too.
Docket - Hope you had a good 8! Are sonograms not normal? I haven’t had my breasts squished yet! Ugh, sorry about the co-worker.
Karen - OMG!!!!! THEY ARE SO CUTE!!! Awww!!!!! What made you decide to get Riley a brother?? He will be so excited!!!
Run4kupcakes - I bet that rain felt good..besides the sunscreen in your eyes. Thunder From Down Under?! When are they coming?! Or is it forever?! That is a good bachelorette idea
HCF is getting a Harley on Monday. He has wanted one all his life..and finally..he is going to get one! On Sept 15 it will be his 10 years sober anniversary! This is going to be his celebration gift So proud of him!
Off to core class! Happy Saturday!!
5 for me, this was a good run. I think because I got out there before it got too hot.
BF and I are going to a wine and beer tasting and hanging at the beach this afternoon.
Lizzie - yeah for some sunshine!! Nice run!
Karen - I have to go back and read yesterday's thread, you are getting a puppy??
Met up for dinner/drinks with my GF last night, she's the girl that ran last week's race with me (we used to work together). She's trying to convince me to run a Half with her this November LOL.
Working all day today, BLEH! Nice having Friday off, but....... No run or workout for me today, I hope to do 8 miles tomorrow morning really early. Supposed to be exceptionally hot and humid here ( for Ohio) this weekend.
Yes Karen, what did make you decide to get another pup? Have you spoken to Riley about this? He may not like sharing, LOL!
Nice run this morning Liz, wish i couldn't slow myself down, I do it naturally. Cool on HCF gettin his Harley, good for him!
LC, you should go ahead and do the Half.
Oh yeah, GD did make the volleyball team! She is very excited. More games to watch this fall

Morning! I have OTF in an hour and 4 miles tonight.
Liz, no, the mammogram does not include a sonogram; that is if they want to look more deeply. My breasts are dense and apparently, the radiologist decided this year I should have one. Nice run.
Laura, nice 5. There is a time in the morning when it's not too hot? I want to be there!
Ginny, good luck on the run tomorrow.

20 mile bike ride for me!! It was not very fast, but I got out there and got it done!! Also gave my bike a bath and greased the chain. It really needed it.
Repotted orchids and watered all the plants. My two big chores for today are done! Now I can sew.
Karen---SO cute!!!! I love puppies!!! We have been giving the dogs extra lovin since we've been home. I missed them. DS2 is taking the labs to Florida for a few days, so it will be nice and quiet here. Did I tell you--when all the family was here for the wedding the dogs were SO good?? They were very polite and enjoyed all the petting and attention from the nieces (5). I was worried they would jump up on my folks, but only once or twice. Whew!
Random wedding giggles: I was waiting in the bell tower and realized my bouquet was in the fellowship hall. The LOCKED fellowship hall. Had to get an usher to run over and grab it for me. Dad did walk me down the aisle in shorts and his boot cast. It was fine. When it was time to put the ring on his finger, I could not get it on. Not even past the tip of his finger. Pastor looked at me and I said I couldn't get the ring on his finger. Then he replied, "Good, now you know it will never come off". Then the nervous giggles took over and I giggled the rest of the ceremony. Could. not.stop. giggling.
More later.
Have a great Saturday
Hey Karen--- how do you block random people on Strava? I've had two follow me. I don't know them.
7.8 miles for me. I ran 2 with Heather, the other running coach, before everyone showed up and we came up with a plan on how to not lose anyone. Plan successful. Ran the rest with the group, speeding up to put cones down for a turnaround and direct runners at a turn, then running with some of the runners once Heather got to me directing traffic (tag team coaching). Ran back at the end to pick up the cones and bring them back, walked a bit with some walkers, then ran to the store. This was probably one of our more logistically challenging runs since we had two different routes for different distances and over half the people are new and still worried about getting lost. In a couple weeks we'll be going long enough that it makes sense to head over to the paved trail and do and out-and-back route, which should be easier.
We've been sorta talking about getting Riley a buddy for awhile now. I was the holdout due to the idea of twice as much poop and twice as much fur. Right now I vacuum twice a week (plus run the Roomba most days) and pick up poop twice a week. So if I just add 1-2 more times a week it should be fine, right? Right? At least that's what I'm telling myself. Anyway, earlier in the week I was going to check when my next chewy auto ship order was scheduled to go out because we're pretty low on dog food, and I clicked on the link in my favorites for Riley's breeder instead (both links are saved under Dog Stuff on my browser). And I noticed they had puppies born July 27 and still had 1 female and 3 males available. We talked about it some more, but I wasn't sure. I took Riley to daycare where he was so excited to go play with other dogs. I went running in my neighborhood and saw a girl walking a three-month-old yellow lab and he was so so so cute. Texted DH and said I thought I wanted one of the puppies and he said he figured I'd have already called to get one. So I called, we got 3rd pick of the males, and I put the contract and deposit check in the mail this morning.
Liz, congrats to HCF on 10 years! That's awesome. Nice job getting through a sucky run. Several of my baby runners were struggling in the hot and humid this morning.
Laura, nice run this morning. Your afternoon sounds fun - enjoy.
Ginny, congrats to GD on making the team! Hope your 8 goes well tomorrow.
Damaris, I had the same thing happen with my mammo. Then the sonogram showed something they were nearly positive was nothing, but I have to go back in six months for another one just to make sure. Hooray for dense breasts? (Yes, Sandy and Liz, I said breasts.)
Susan, laughing at your various wedding escapades. So glad it was all normal little stuff. And nice bike ride this morning. On Strava, you can go to the list of people following you and if you're on a computer, there should be a little settings gear thing button that you can click on and block them. On the phone, go to your profile and click on the number of followers to bring up the list. If you click on the person you want to block, they will come up and on the top right are three little dots. Click on that and you can block that person.
Going to a pool party at the neighbors this afternoon. He's a pool contractor so their pool and backyard look amazing. Should be fun. Nothing planned for tomorrow - will need a quiet day after today's extroverting!

2.3 miles at Power Day OTF. For some reason that felt so hard. Must be the fact that the last time I was there was two weeks ago?
Susan, haha. That's awesome. Nice bike ride.
Karen, nice run. And at least you didn't say titties, like I would have...
Happy weekend! Mix of sunshine and fog here, which normal summer weather. This morning, I volunteered at a local HM/10k race. My friend is the new RD and she resurrected the race after it went on hiatus a few years ago. I think it went well! Got a lot of support from the community and local sponsors too. So happy for my friend, she put in a lot of work.
Ran 5.6 yesterday, might go out for a few miles later. I've been thinking about switching things up and trying for a different kind of goal: marathon PR. Now that I'm, ahem, 50, my BQ time went up to 4:00 (hey, another good thing about getting old!). My current PR from 2016 CIM is 3.5 minutes under that. I've become a lot slower since then but maybe I could get a little more speed if I changed up my workouts. I have a road marathon in November that would be perfect for this, although it's mostly downhill so it also seems a bit like cheating to PR on that course. Anyway, something I'm pondering.
Damaris, nice power day. Anyone else remember She-Ra, Princess of Power?
Karen, awwwww, the pups are teeny tiny! Like guinea pigs! Funny how clicking on the wrong thing can have such big consequences. Nice job herding your baby runners and not losing any.
CrazySue, every wedding needs a few random giggles.
Ginny, hope work was tolerable ad the crazies stayed away. Does the hot weather bring them inside for the AC?
LC, you could do a HM in November, no problem. Not that I'm aiding/abetting your GF in this plan...
Lizzie, without a crappy run now and then, we wouldn't appreciate the good runs as much! Congrats to HCF on his 10 year anniversary! He deserves something nice.
It's great being done with volunteering so early in the day. ow I have the rest of the day free! My exciting plans include... yard work and cleaning, but first more coffee!
4/14/24 Napa Valley 50k, Calistoga, CA
7/20/24 Tahoe Rim Trail 56 miler, NV
9/21/24 Mountain Lakes 100, OR
Laura - Have a great time today with BF! That sounds fun! Are you not interested in the half in November?
Ginny - Hot and humid? Thats your perfect running weather Sorry you have to work today YAY for GD!!! That is awesome! I don’t think there was any doubt though
Susan - Imagining your wedding giggles made me giggle! Aw Nice bike ride this morning!
Karen - Nice run this morning! Did you actually run with cones? Haha, I think that would be challenging! Awww..I am so excited to see pictures of Rileys new buddy! Do you have a name yet?? Have fun at the pool party and extroverting!
Docket - Titties is NOT as bad as breasts! I told HCF not to say breasts anymore so now he says, “TIT-AYYYSSS”. LOL. Nice job this morning at OTF! Probably felt tougher since you haven’t been in a while.
Margaret - How cool that your friend brought the race back to life! Glad it worked out Wow, a marathon PR? I love that goal! So, if you qualified for Boston, you would run it, right?!?! I say go for it! Do you add speed work and all that jazz in your marathon training? Or did you in the past? No nap in the plans?!
Man, I was a machine this morning. After core class I cleaned the entire house..including vacuum and mop! Then HCF and I did some adulting errands. I just woke up from a 2 hour nap We are going out to dinner tonight. Should be fun! The last time we went out to eat on a date was the night we got engaged!
Have a great rest of your day everyone!
3 very easy miles.
Lizzie, congrats to HCF on 10 years. My former neighbors all bought Harley's. They then all went out and bought matching Harley clothing. They bought these hunting orange denim shirts with cut off sleeves--DH called them their Fred Flinstone shirts.
GatsbyBird, sounds like a good goal to have. Is the road marathon one of the extreme downhill ones or more gentle?
Docket, do Inknburn tops running pretty true to size? Or school mascot is the chameleon, so I *need* it.
I'm beat. Forgot we signed up to clean the church today. I mopped the entire fellowship hall and cleaned the bathrooms. The couple who were married the week before us had glitter EVERYWHERE!!! Ugh. Cleaned bathrooms and kitchen too. Does look much better. DH swept and vacuumed the sanctuary. Took about 3+ hours. I don't even clean that much at OUR house!!
Lizzie--Big congrats to HCF!! Half Crazy--lol on the "Flintstones" shirts.
Making a key lime pound cake w key lime cream cheese frosting for church tomorrow. Yes, we signed up for that too. It was our turn.
Later!
Fun time this afternoon, we went to the art fair, then the beer/wine thing then walked downtown and had a beer and chips/guac at a local bar. The tasting gives you 3 free with your ticket though of course they are small tastings so we were definitely sober going to the bar LOL. I have just loved this summer, we have had sunny, hot and dry days most of the season (not the greatest to run in but overall, so much better than...winter LOL).
Home now, just had dinner with the kids and are going to watch "Chappaquidick".
Ginny - have a great 8 tomorrow, hope your work day wasn't too bad.
Damaris - I know, your weather is so hard to run in all year, we luckily usually have fairly cool mornings here and even when it's humid, I'm not usually running too long or far so it's manageable assuming I get out early enough. Hope you had a good OTF and run!
Susan - I probably missed telling you "CONGRATULATIONS"!! Glad everything went well, sounds like a beautiful day!!
Karen - OMG, they are so cute!! You will love having two babies. We got our second doggie 6 months ago and I love her so much. The only bad thing is we got her at age 2 and she was not potty trained so that has been a struggle but she is way better than she was. And, she's a good little sister to our other dog, even though he didn't like her much...the first 3 months or so!!
Margaret - glad the race went well for your friend and awesome of you to volunteer!
Lizzie - you are a machine - sounds like you need to come to my house and clean ha ha!! Hope you have a great date night!
Half K - nice 3!!
So, I am pretty sure I am going to do the Half, it's actually a race I did a few years ago, nothing real exciting, out and back on a rail trail (and in Carol's neck of the woods). I was going to do the race, but the plan was the 10K. 3 months is plenty of time to train, though. GF and I are going to meet up next Saturday for a 5-6 miler. I want to do it because I want to do the Glass Half with you all!!
That is hilarious, Liz, as BREASTS is the normal name, lol.
Ran 4 miles just now.
Margaret, I remember She-Ra and He-Man! Nice job volunteering and running.
HCK, I think they are true to size, unless you have big "breasts", LOL.
Susan, I love volunteering, but cleaning would not be what I would do, ha. Good job.
Laura, sounds like you had a nice day!
WINE o'clock somewhere!
Lizzie, good for you on the adulting today. Congrats to HCF on the Harley/sobriety. Funny you having him call them titties. My ex wouldn't let me call his manhood a penis. Felt it was demeaning to it. You had to call it a "C". Now granted...
Laura, DO THE HALF! And definitely join us in April. We need to get the ENTIRE crew out for it.
Ginny, good luck with your 8 tomorrow. That is now my new goal for Monday. (I'm trying to keep up with you!!!) Sorry you had to work today, I was at it myself. And tomorrow too.
Damaris, good luck with the sonogram.
Sue, glad you had some good giggles in the ceremony. Repotting orchids. I had some and was soooo worried about doing it. Watched a youtube video on how to do it. Damn, the woman just ripped them apart like nobodies business. So we did too, they thrived. Strange. So much heartier than I thought.
Karen, glad you didn't lose anyone. As a back of the packer, we appreciate it. Hope the pool party was fun.
Margaret, new goals are always invigorating. You should definitely go for a BQ!!! Which race in November?
HCK, Damaris is the QUEEN of InknBurn - her collection is to DIE FOR, but personally I find them slightly on the snug side. But I like my running stuff on the looser side. Of course, maybe the added poundage on my frame has something to do with it...
Wowza, what a day at work, we were swamped. So glad to be home with my feet kicked up. Have to remember to do laundry soon, or else tomorrow will be interesting.
Alarm went off, alarm got silenced, and I went back to sleep. Boo. Not much of a shocker though for me or anyone...
Still battling stifling heat down here, no shocker to that either!!! Though there is a slight breeze so I am actually out back for once.
QOTD - since Lizzie brought it up, lets have some fun with it. What is your FAVORITE or funniest nickname for breasts. Cmon, don't be shy ladies. Lizzie isn't. Nor am I... I am partial to bodacious tatas. And I only just started my 2nd glass of wine. Just think what I am capable of asking after a few more...
