Morning!  Hope everybody in its path is safe.

      I have 5 miles tonight.

        5.1 easy miles for me.

Was really close to calling this a TURD when I saw that the dewpoint was 74! EW. But I was already up and dressed and knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep - so out I went! Run was okay. Better than yesterday but still sore in some areas. The massage helped my hamstrings and calves BIG TIME. I may try to get another one before Richmond Marathon.

Mr. Michael will be arriving here around 4pm. We are expected to get torrential downpours and wind gusts 40-50mph (that's what they are saying but they also said Florence was going to hit us hard - that's what she said). BUT Michael will be making a quit exit and all should be over with by 4am WITH a HUGE drop in temperatures. Sleeveless top today...long sleeve tomorrow! I am hopeful that today will be our last day with this humid CRAP until next Spring!

My parents were supposed to be coming down to meet the wedding planner with HCF and I this afternoon - but I am going to reschedule. They live an hour away and I don't feel comfortable having my 84 year old father drive home in a tropical storm. Hopefully she can reschedule to next week.

        Hoping today is busy!

Carol – YAY for officially signing up! I am so excited to meet you!!! I am surprised you weren’t sore from that workout on Tuesday. That sounds tough! Your day yesterday did NOT sound fun. Haven’t had the pleasure of doing a mammogram yet..not looking forward to it.

Docket – Congratulations again on the race and Legacy status! YAY! I love how you made the best of things. I am sorry about your knee and groin – but you had a blast!! Personally, when I get all in my head and try and race - I notice that I don’t "enjoy" the race. More like tunnel vision. I think you did great! Reading your RR makes me think back to Sunday in MN..makes me want to run a marathon again. Nothing beats that feeling! And you are right – that weather IS warm! I also can’t believe your doughnuts froze!! Figures! Does Chicago not have a half option?

Run4kupcakes – Its always dark it seems like!

Sandy - Did you get all of your homework done last night?? Wink I am going to wear my "Run the North" shirt tomorrow Smile Probably not work appropriate really, but who cares. I ran a marathon on Sunday.

        Happy Thursday!

Meanwhile, in Texas, it's 63 degrees right now. Off to get a quick run in before taking Huckles to his first day of puppy school this morning. When Riley went he was scared of the other puppies the first couple times. Don't think that will be a problem for Huckleberry.

            Safety wishes to all.

Fun thing: when DC and I were on the hike the other day, we saw a cute little garter snake. It’s really remarkable that they can travel so fast for how long they are.

Wednesday I dashed out to the trail. It was still really warm. An interesting thing happened. Two women I know, separately spoke to me about their concerns about men on the trail. I suspect the negative treatment of women in the news lately has got us all thinking about safety.

Today I hope to do a trail run.

            Happy runs, All!

            Where is the "any" key?

Liz, nice run.  Chicago is only the full and because there are 44K or so runners, they can't host a HM.

              Judy, enjoy the trail run.

                Hello! 5 miles this morning.

Damaris--great race report. Sorry about your knee. My hand still hurts. It is split open right at the base of the wrist. Idk if I'll go to battle training tonight.  Still can't grip or lift anything. Think I'll wait till Saturday.

DH is on the boat. I'll go down to the dock (about a block from the office, on the same campus) and see him off in a bit. He'll be back on the 22nd.

Last night DS2's GF and her bestie drove through, so we met them for dinner along with her grandparents. They live in Florida and like to come here to the casinos, so they decided to leave there home near the gulf for a couple of days. They don't think they had any damage, just a tree down and no power yet. Was nice to meet them. Girls are headed to Disney.

OMG---when we got home a kitten kept trying to run inside the house!! I've never seen the kitty before and he was determined to come in. Jake was ready to eat it. He left sometime during the night. I texted my neighbor to see if she had a new kitty. She told me I should leave it on the neighbor's porch, ring the bell and run. lol.  I hope he found his way home, was a sweet Siamese kitty. I'm sure it belongs to someone.

Lizzie--stay safe! Good recovery miles this morning.

                Karen--awww puppy school!!

Ugh some POS hacked my credit card number last night. The credit card company alerted quickly--I guess they saw I couldn't get gas in MS and Halal Guys carryout in PA at the same time. There should be a special place in hell for credit card hackers.

                Later!

                Bikerchick1

Lizzie - I am looking forward to meeting you as well!  Hope Michael doesn’t cause any damage.  Can’t believe how fast you bounce back after. Marathon.

Damarias - Loved your RR.  I also love how you really enjoy a race!

Judy - It is unnerving lately with all of the  issues lately about women.

Karen - 63 degrees...you must be loving that!!!  We did have a lot of laughs in Chicamauga and Detroit!  I remember my RB teasing me about meeting my imaginary friends!

Crazysue - I must have missed what happened to your hand????

Going to Spin later today.  My abs are crying from class the other day....

Whelp, I chickened out and didn’t run.  I was afraid of the pain, afraid of the temp (34*) and afraid of the wind (felt like 26*).  So, yup, just a big fat wimpy chicken shit over here!  But, I did exercise my brain last night.  Factoring and graphing polynomials.  Failed at a Physics word problem as time was running out.  So, yeah, feeling like a million bucks over here.  Eye.  Roll.

HCK – all I want to do is sleep!  The darkness and grey and rain is taking it’s toll.  Nice five on the dread.

Damaris – loved your RR as always.  Nice job making lemonade out of lemons.  Sounds like you had a blast!  And another marathon in the books.  Pretty freakin rock star, I’d say.

Lizzie – yeah, some parts just west of Fargo got over a foot of snow yesterday.  They closed the highway for a time.  It won’t stick around but ugh.  LOL on not listening to the Mammel run his mouth in arrogance.  Hmmm well I can possibly help HCF spectate.  I’m really good at finding people!  Yikes stay safe with Michael!  Good call rescheduling today’s meeting to avoid driving in that.  Nice run.  Yay for Run the North!  Super cute shirt and you HAVE now run the north!

Lisa – that’s funny you cut the run short due to sore arms but I get it!!  And you went back for more last night?  Oof.  Another planner in the crowd!  Love it!  Will keep all that in mind but I probably won’t buy my ticket until closer to the end of the year.  MSP – DTW is typically pretty cheap and doesn’t change much.  I just looked at your sig – nothing until Dec??  Well that’s unusual for you!!

Tessa – ahhhh the brilliance of people.  Um, yeah, if the earthquake faults haven’t been discovered yet pretty sure there ain’t gonna be a map!  How are the kit kats doing?

Elina Elina come out come out wherever you are!!

Kat – bummer the shoes aren’t as great as you had hoped.  Good luck with the longer mileage today!!

Cathy – my mom used to make angel food cake for our birthdays!  oh man, your fireplace sounds awesome!  We had one growing up.  But when the inside of the chimney needed repair my parents went with a gas insert.  Now THAT thing pumped out some serious HEAT.  And, they used it almost every day.  Oh speedy Mr. Math.  Good luck to him in his 5K.  I cannot even imagine.  Color me impressed.

Lori – thanks for posting about Glass City!  Looks like my kind of marathon!  I like flat and fast so then I don’t feel quite so slow.  Ha.

Karen – are you just giddy with your 63*??  While I freeze??  LOL  Awwww you will HAVE to post pics of Huckles at school!  Riley is gonna miss him when he’s gone.

Sue – nice miles.  Sorry about the sore hand still.  Good plan to give it a couple more days to heal.  Awwww kitty kat.  Hope she found her way home!  Safe sailing to DH.

Like I mentioned to HCK, all I want to do is sleep!  The cold and the grey is getting to be a bit much.  And we only have 7 more months of this.  Started the Vit D.  Kinda funny last night my boss called about 8:15pm.  He and sleepy dude were still in the office and wanted me to do a quick test from the Internet.  They were joking they thought I may be brushing my teeth.  I opted not to tell them that his call actually woke me up from already dozing in my bed for the night.  Ha!

                    Trails

Fingers crossed the weather forecast holds for the 20th...sunny 50/69 with 10% chance of rain and winds at 5 mph...sold!

This morning it was 45 degrees!...high of 59 today Sunday morning low of 36...OK that's enough winter. I'm just glad I'm not in Denver as the high on Sunday will be 28 and snow.

I took a day off yesterday and did some housecleaning and cooked some spaghetti for dinner.

When I took my shepard mix Rivets to Petsmart for obedience training he was so scared he pooped in the middle of the store.  I was so embarrassed but the lady who helped me clean it up said it's common.  Hope Huckles enjoys school.

Damaris great RR.  I'm impressed you all can remember all of that and even take so many pictures.  I tend to be a lot like my mare Codee....head down and straight for the finish line.  I'm hoping that all the races Kat and I are doing in 2019 will teach me to lighten up.

Lizzie, makes sense to not have your dad driving in that rain.  It can always wait.

Judy, some women react so differently...some get anxious and others get angry.  I kind of feel sorry for boys growing up and for the girls too.  It's good it's in the open and I so hope it puts and end to the harassment but in the meantime things are scary.

Hot Vinyasa last night. That was a tough class... puddles of sweat, and I do mean multiple puddles. Good though to work muscles in different ways. This teacher even helps with some poses so that's even better!

                        Glass City: https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/tolfn-fairfield-inn-and-suites-toledo-north/

I have 3 rooms reserved using Marriott family rate. That means that I have to be there for check in and pay for them. Whomever stays in the rooms will just repay me. Each room will be $184.86 total for Saturday and Sunday nights (that's including tax and fees, rooms themselves are $79/night). I can cancel up to April 25. Each room has 2 queen beds in it so can sleep up to 4 people. Work it out amongst ourselves on who is sharing a room with who. Free parking and continental breakfast. If there are better options I'm fine with canceling. I just wanted to get something reserved. I have earplugs so can share room/bed with snorer.  I think Kat and I are sharing. If she is okay with more in room, I am too. I'd prefer being cheap but $90 for two nights is already pretty cheap. LOL

Never mind... I had the realization that Katie will be studying abroad in Italy next April. I asked and she has opted to not give up the study abroad to continue employment with Marriott. Ungrateful child. So we are now homeless.

Took the morning off from working out but will go to gym after work.

Damaris-loved the RR and fun marathons are ALWAYS better than fast ones in my book so you PRed for sure! LOL

Ginny- Nice to offer Cleveland pickup! Sometimes it is a cheaper airport!

HCK2-good for you to get 5 on the tm. I'm dreading it as I do every fall.

                        Carol-yeah for Glass City!

                        Lisa

Carol--I tripped on uneven pavement last Saturday and fell.  Skinned up my hand. ;(

Sandy, Diane, Lisa, and everyone else--enjoy those cooler temps!!

And I stayed out of the candy and chips yesterday. Feel much better today. Wink

I have not read at all and I did not run or workout today, but I had to get on here and tell you the latest from the reference department!  I just helped a patron print tickets for a Ninja Sex Party!  If anyone is interested it will be somewhere on Euclid Ave. in Cleveland.  That is all.

Liz-yeah for a good run... boo for Michael throwing off your wedding plans.

                              Judy-happy trails again!

                              Damaris-congrats on the legacy status!

Sue-high 5 to you (for your miles).  yeah for them catching the hackers quickly! Too funny about the kitten.  I bet it was a cutie! I'd recommend starting to think about cute kittens, quilts and whatever else makes you happy to flip around that "luck" of yours.

Carol-I'm sure the abs are crying tears of joy. LOL Will be fun to see you again!

Sandy-I find it funny when someone calls me a planner or says I'm organized. I feel nothing like it since I'm super high on adaptability. However, I do like having some bones to the skeleton and enjoy fleshing it out from there. LOL Getting into the season with that one. For Glass City, I know it isn't that big of a place so hotels will get sparse fast and I wanted to get daughter's employee discount in. Oldest daughter's wedding is November so I kept calendar open for both financial reasons and just to keep it open. I'm watchful though. LOL BTW listening to your body is not being a wimpy chicken. so stop that.

Diane-that is good weather! I don't know.. I think each generation gets a bit better. The ones before pave the way for improvement (sometimes quite painfully so because of huge mistakes). Knowing what I know now and thinking back to when I was a teenaged girl/young woman... we put up with so much crap and just thought is was the way it was supposed to be, or worse, thought is was our fault and we weren't being "nice" if we thought otherwise. My older daughters see a huge difference even in the last 10 years. The one in marketing and I were talking about it.

Ginny-not to be confused with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party down the street!!! Too bad I already have plans...

                              Lisa

                              Running with the Turtles

Yes, hoping everyone in the path of Michael stays safe!  A little over 5 miles with short intervals, the cut downs again, 2x(3x100m).  It was as awesome as it could be in temps in the upper 30's with a "feels like" 21.    At the end of my run, some "frozen mist" was blowing around.  I refuse to call it snow.    At least it's sunny today!

Damaris, enjoy the 5!  I love the Chicago race photos!

Lizzie, I saw your weather forecast this morning, it looked great.    Nice 5!  Glad the massage helped!  My RB that ran the marathon on Sunday is taking 2 weeks off running!  My rest day is tomorrow.  I'll try to do my PT exercises and stretching though.  What kinds of bugs does Sandy not have?  We have lots of bugs.    DH used to take his bike to spectate.  Suggest that to HCF for Richmond.    Hey, if you can run the course, he can bike it!

Karen, awww, first day of school.  Take pictures.

Sue, funny about the kitten!  Your CC number was hacked again?  I am pretty sure I know where mine was hacked, a gas station.  I don't go there anymore!  Glad you are feeling better today!

Carol, your poor abs.    It will be nice to meet you at Glass City!  You are brave for doing the marathon.

Sandy, honestly I think rest is probably the best thing for you right now!  Wow, you really did exercise your brain.  I would have no idea where to start with that stuff.  I should call you Ms Math.    Mean of your boss to call so late.    Oh, I finished "Try Not to Breathe".  It was good!  I was hoping Amy would wake up, but I guess that is not realistic.     I am reading "All You Can Ever Know" now, it's a memoir of a Korean woman that was adopted by a white family.

Diane, I hope the weather forecast stays the same!

Lisa, sounds like a tough yoga class!  Sometimes it feels good to get that sweat out.

Ginny, ummm, thanks for the tip.

Kupcakes, I agree with you on the dark, I am over running in the dark.  Is spring coming?

                                Cathy
