13.1 speed work miles. Last 7 were at MP.

I took an epsom salt bath last night..and it must have been some miracle salts because I had a FANTASTIC run this morning. Best run all week. Didn't feel any aches and pains..felt like I hadn't run in days! I'll take one of those baths every night if that is the result LOL. Really good run except I over dressed. Should have went with short sleeve. MP miles were right around 9:30. Last 3 were right at 9:00. My watch kept telling me "too fast". Smile Glad it is over. Wasn't dreading the speed work - I was dreading the distance. I am tired of getting up at 3am!

National pet day! I will give Ruger extra kisses tonight! He would NOT poop this morning. He is going to be squeezing those puppy cheeks all day! Smile Smile

We have another "Road Show" tomorrow so I am knee deep in prep for that. Luckily I dont have to attend. I am not sure why they host here - getting in this place is awful. Anyway, heading out of here early for my annual OBGYN apt. I don't mind them..the only annoying part is shaving my legs the morning of Wink

Laura – We have missed you! I am sorry you are struggling with mojo and your runs aren’t so great. You are still getting out there – that is something! It is probably the winter weather. WOOHOO that is exciting about the nurse prospect!!! I am so surprised that there haven’t been any applicants for the other position. I know you had mentioned the pay wasn’t that great – but still! Yes, you can be my personal assistant. I would just have you do one thing – run with me! Smile Yay for morning runs! It really does make you feel better first thing and sets the tone for the day.

Kilmisters – You will get to the end alive, silly! You are going to do great!! I am grumpy about warm temperatures also. UGH. And YES YES about the water and no more pockets!!! I share those same struggles. Haha. I hate carrying water with me…H A T E. Sorry the practice wasn’t so great. You get to “rest” before the race now! Are you going to be running much the next couple days?

Diana – Awesome job on the half!!! Brother sister team Smile  So cool you got to meet Cathy and her family Smile Shes great Smile  I didn’t realize you had a marathon so close. Awesome. I also didn’t know that you had ran Fargo! Karen and I are joining Sandy in that adventure. We are excited!

Run4kupcakes – I thought of you and Karen this morning when I was listening to the weather..looks like that storm that is coming has been delayed to Sunday. SCORE.

HCBF is coming home tonight! Woohoo! He has to be in town tomorrow for something..yay!! Smile

Happy Wednesday! Is it nap time yet?

      Mighty Mouse

Tuesday I was able to get in 35 minutes running at home. Errands afterward.

Today I plan a morning run, then volunteer work at the library.

        Safe and happy runs, All!

        Where is the "any" key?

         judyruns

No run. Still feel like crap. I'm so congested and coughing so much I'm not sleeping well.  I took Nyquil last night and it was like being hit by a truck! And I still coughed all night. I could barely stand up to take the dog out, but I was still coughing...Can't shake the headache either.  My head hurts from all the coughing,.I haven't been this sick in years.

So..Jake has cancer. A fist sized tumor on his lung, and the vet thinks he has cancer elsewhere and it has spread to his lungs. I love my pup, but I don't think I'm going to put him through a lot of tests and treatments. We'll just see how it goes. He's 12.

I have a project update Friday but I feel so bad I'm really not getting much done. It is sad when you are afraid of your bosses reaction...I'll probably get the "you should have managed your time better to allow for emergencies" or something like that. Ugh. I think I'm just going to suck it up and tell her I feel like sh*! in a sack and would like to work on this next week.

          Tessa--feel better.

Haven't been around for a few days.  Been reading, just haven't posted.

Ran 8 miles on Monday before work, I was channeling Lizzie!  I didn't run Sunday and I felt so bad about it I decided to do Monday instead.  It was an okay run, cold and windy so I did it on the TM, so it went as well as 8 can go on a TM for me.  Upper body today, but I quit early, not feeling real good this morning, just kind of strange, if that makes any sense, my stomach is a little off and I just want to lay down and go back to sleep.  Hope it will pass and not getting anything.

LC and Kat...you know that I frequently lose my mojo, it will come back, it always does.

Tessa....sorry about your location change and what is the reasoning behind the no trash can?  So you get up and move?  I don't get it.

Lizzie....sweet picture of your Ruger boy on FB this morning.  He is so cute.  He will regret not pooping for you this morning!

Sandy....the weather people, who are rarely right, are telling us that we will have temps in the 70's by Friday.  I'm not buying it.  I am waiting for the infamous "cooler by the lake" statement which means we will be 20 degrees cooler than that.  So far they haven't said that, but they will spring it on us soon.  It happens frequently in the Spring because of the cool temps of Lake Erie.  Even if we do have a hot summer, you will not hear me complaining.  Only 2 more volleyball games?  That went fast.

GD has another softball game tonight.  This may be the first game we can enjoy without freezing, supposed to be in the 50's today, which will feel like a heat wave if it happens.  The team isn't doing very well, but GD is catcher, so she gets all the action, fun to watch.  They lack pitching.

I know that I didn't get all personals, I will try back later.

            Ginny

Oh Sue I just read your post about Jake.  I am so, so sorry.  These darn animals just become so precious to us.  Having just been through this with our two this year I know exactly how you feel...

            Trails

Ehh I only managed an hour last night on the TM...so 4 miles instead of my planned 6.  For the last couple of days I have been feeling so blah.  Sad and mildly depressed.  I'm sure it's the craptastic weather we have...45 mph wind gusts today...35 tomorrow...and again on Friday then cold and rainy for the weekend.  I've been looking at the KS weather and it's no better for the 21st but still some days out.  Not looking forward to it.

Every day is pet day at my house Lizzie.  Nice speed work...I can't imagine getting up at 3 am to run 13 miles unless I had paid for it.  A lot of banks host "road shows" as they tend to help with financing.  I did a tiny bit of prep for one when I worked for Petro.  They can be interesting but exhausting too.

Laura we have a hard time finding people but we are in the middle of nowhere and they have to be able to get a gaming license if they want to work in the casino.  It's a pretty thorough background check.

Diana, I have to be in Denver in Sept...any chance you will be in that area?  I have a training conference but will be free in the evenings.  I'm going alone so don't have to eat with my boss and coworker.

Elina you've been keeping up with your running and I'm sure floorball keeps you in shape so a 10k should be a breeze.  Depending on the trail you may need to slow down a bit but my non running DH did one with me last year and he survived...lol.

I'm finishing up a big audit this week so need to get busy on the finishing touches.

              Have a happy hump day.

Cross posted...OMG Sue I am so sorry to hear that.  12 is a good age for a largish dog but still too soon.  Cancer seems so common in dogs.  You have my thoughts.

Ginny nice TM miles!  We will be in the 70's but the wind will be ferocious.

Thanks for the kind thoughts on Jake. They gave me pain meds for him--so I'll just watch and try to figure out when he needs them.

Wow Ginny--8 miles! You go girl!

Bright side of being sick--no appetite. I've lost 4 lbs this week!! I'm really trying to pound the fluids. Throat is so sore I can't swallow some things. ;(

Morning!  I am in court all day, and my 1:30pm hearing is UGLY, yuck.  I have 6 and weights as soon as I get home from that yuckiness.

Liz, nice job on the MP workout.

Judy, enjoy the run and the volunteer work.

Susan, feel better!  I'm so sorry about Jake. Sad

Ginny, some days are off for me too, so good call shortening the workout.

Diane, great job pushing through the 4.

Oh Susan, I'm sorry. Jake is such a good boy. I know you'll do everything to keep him comfortable and happy. And I hope you feel better soon, you are not having the best week so far!

Laura, I'm sorry you've misplaced your mojo. It's probably down in Mexico on the beach having drinks with Ginny's mojo. I'm sure spring will eventually arrive and all the mojo will come back.

Diana, great RR and congrats to you and your brother! So was the bike race a mountain bike race or gravel race or something like that? Awesome that you got to hang out with Cathy, you are both on my "need to meet" list.

Liz, awesome run. I feel like a broken record here. I hope I can keep up with you in Fargo! Maybe your watch is telling you that 9:00 is supposed to be your new marathon pace......cough.....sub-4.....cough. I'm pretty sure you'll get to that point sooner than you realize.

Ginny, 8 miles on a TM on a Monday morning before work? Damn! Do you even realize anymore how badass you are?

Diane, sorry you're having craptastic weather too. I'll enjoy our beautiful weather this morning for everyone (and continuing bitching about the now 20 mph headwinds predicted for Boston along with heavy rain). When in September are you going to be in Denver? I'm looking tentatively at a Nebraska marathon the last weekend in September as a training run (and to get the state) and if I were to do that would fly into Denver and possibly stay a few days before or after since my best friend lives there.

Okay, enough procrastinating for me. I have 7 with 2 at marathon pace on the schedule. It's my last non-easy run before Boston and our weather is great, so I have no excuse to not be out there right now. Not a lot else planned. Perhaps some lying in the hammock and reading a book later.

Karen I fly in on the 17th and out on the 21st.  Of course I'll miss GD's 2nd birthday on the 19th but they plan on the weekend either before or after for the party so I can make that!

Tessa – oh dear on the no trash cans.  That is a lonnnnnnnnng way to toss a tissue!  Ours only get emptied once a week but you can toss food/nastiness in the ones in the break room at least.  I’d go with the plastic bag as well.  SURE hope you are feeling better!!

Cathy – whoa a Tiffany necklace for the winners?!  How cool!!  Well worth the entry fee, I ‘d say.  High cholesterol runs in my family as well.  My mom controlled hers with diet.  I can say for a fact that when I’m running more, it’s well below that 200 threshold.  When I’m not, it creeps up.  Mostly due to the “good” stuff but, still.  Man, I seriously want to hire you to plan my next trip!  I can do it but, it’s not my favorite.  I’m still quite proud of planning my Chile trip in Dec 2106 which included 3 different cities, 4 different places to stay and a flight in the middle of it haha.  That is funny about your con artist neighbor boy.  Glad Mr. Math could be your visual!  Oh hellzzzz to the no – I am NOT taking 14 11 yr olds to a movie!!  LOL  I cannot even imagine.  Mmmm that lead male runner is dreamy haha

Kat – sorry for the lack of motivation – it happens!  Good on you for getting out for 2.  2 is better than zero!  You have such a green thumb – I love it!  Do you do vegetables?  I might try potted tomatoes again.  Maybe.  I also can get lazy and just buy them from the farmer’s market haha

Lizzie – another blamy 30 degree morning here!  Seriously, with no wind, it’s quite nice.  You know – you love it, too.  Hooray – 20 miler twins!  But, I’m going Saturday.  Oh yes, we can get humid here.  Though not as humid as you guys.  Dewpoints in the 60s are common though 70s not so much.  And, if we do get that humid it typically only lasts a few days – it would be super rare to go weeks with that.  But, watch, this summer will be different and the jet stream stays way north or something.  Ew on the MICE at work?!  Ummmm no.  People are gross.

Laura – good to SEE you!!  This weather isn’t helping ANYone’s mojo.  I get why you wait until afternoon – light out and slightly warmer but it’s getting lighter earlier now!  Fingers crossed the person you interviewed becomes a colleague!!

Elina – OMG that’s it, I’m moving to Latvia haha.  I need me some 65*!!  Though, you are TOTALLY right in that it takes some time to get used to running in that.  I am seriously worried that Fargo will be the first warm weekend of the year.  In which case, I will crumble and burst into flames.  Not to mention the water and phone issues.  Ooof, floorball sounded tough.  Hope today is better!!

Diana – loved the report!  You do some pretty cool races.  And HARD haha.  1st Masters – WOOHOO!  I don’t think my sister and family will be at Fargo – they have something going on that weekend.  That’s okay – I’ve done this enough that it’s totally no big deal.  Yeah, weather is a crap shoot for sure.  I just hope it’s not the first warm weekend of the year!!  Have fun with DD and GDs in Phnx!!

Lizzie2 – a half marathon before work.  Holy crap, girl.  3am wakeup in itself is painful!  You are one of the most discipline people I have ever met.  No joke.  Glad the Epsom bath helped.  You are going to sleep sooooooooooo good tonight!!  LOL at Ruger.  OMG, why bother shaving for the Dr?!  They have seen a LOT worse haha  Oh, reminds me, I had the doc ask me once about chafing down there out of concern.  Oh, no worries, I run and sometimes the lady bits get injured LOL

Sue – I’m so sorry you are feeling so poorly!  But OMG my heart just sank about Jake.  I am so SO sorry. I really do hate your boss.  Nothing NOTHING needs to take precedence over your health.   Feel better!!

Ginny!!! – holy crap!  8 mi?!  On the dreadmill?!  On a MONDAY??!!  BEFORE WORK?!!!  You are a rock star.  For real.  Sorry you are feeling crappy today, too!  You and Tessa and Sue been hangin out or something?  70* on Friday??  Ummmmm, I’m on my way to visit!!  Heck, I can sleep on your front porch in those temps!!  Here’s hoping those weather people don’t modify things for those near the lake.  Good luck to GD in her softball game.  50 in the sunshine will feel lovely!!

Diane – hope you are feeling better soon!

Damaris – ewwwwww on the yucky hearing.  Go get ‘em, tiger!  Then take it out on the weights and treadmill

Karen – laughing at where Laura and Ginny’s mojo went.  I wish I was down there with it!!  Hoping I’m on your “need to meet” list since I’m on your “gonna meet” list LOL  TOTALLY agree with your prediction that Lizzie is closer to sub-4 than she thinks.  Perfect weather in Fargo and anything can happen.  Go get those 7 and enjoy your hammock time!  I’m picking up Chrissy Metz’s (Kate from This Is Us) memoire from the library after work today and can’t WAIT.  It’ll be an evening on the couch – ya know, unlike any other evening.  *eye roll*

Well, we finished the volleyball season with a perfect record!  0-14!!  Some of them did really well last night.  Well, for them.  Much improvement!!  But, the one drama girl sorta ruined it all for me.  She decided randomly in a game that she didn’t want to play anymore.  Okay, took her out.  Then she moved to the FAR end of the bench and proceeded to distract and bother the other girls.  Tossing her water bottle, just being generally annoying.  Then, in the third game of that match (final game) she wanted to go back in.  Sorry, sista, no deal.  This is a team and YOU do not get to decide when you “want” to play or not.  Of course then there was sobbing which I just ignored.  Just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.  A couple of the parents were really nice and thanked me which was nice but that still really bummed me out.  Oh well, it’s over.  Except for the pizza party next week.

4 easy peasy miles this morning with slower RB.  Hadn’t run with her since late Jan so LOTS to catch up on.  She won’t run when the feels like is below 20* so hopefully these morning 30s stick around and continue to improve.

I think that’s all for now - probably about to cross-post with Cathy and Kat…  Perhaps I’ll be back…

Sandy it seems kids lately are so coddled it's a wonder they can even grow up and function.  Thank you for having rules and sticking by them.  That's a terrible age to deal with. DD might have her hands full with GD but I had rules for her so maybe it'll rub off.

                            Tessa

Susan, I am so sorry about Jake. I agree, I would not put him through a lot of tests and trials either. Especially at his age. (((hug)))

And even worse getting that news when you are sick and miserable also.

Liz, National Pet Day? Sorry Ruger would not get on with business this morning. No chance you could go home to let him out at lunch?

Diana, congratulations! I get annoyed when the bike event starts before the run event unless they have parking reserved for the runners. Hello. the bicyclists can park further away because THEY HAVE BIKES. Good for you on the place!

Elina, that GoT sequence pretty well sums up how a lot of us feel about the new quarters.

Sandy, they only empty the trash once a week? Hope people use the cans for paper only and dispose of food trash in the kitchen. This is one thing our office may need to rethink.

Diane, not in Denver, but have fun -- it's a nice city.

Laura, hope for your sake that the nurse does take the job. Good luck finding another one!

Waving to Cathy, Ginny, Judy, Damaris, Kat, anyone I've missed.

I actually managed 3.2 today, slow and coughing. Still no voice. Class last night was painful and we called it a night early. Class again tonight and then I can be sick tomorrow...three conference calls notwithstanding.

Busyyyy day. Ready for the weekend!

Gorgeous day here - 60's. Had to do some outside work today. Rode around with one of our engineers in the golf cart - man, he is so cute. If he were single..and I were single...phew, we would be in trouble. Wink

                                Hi Judy!

Susan – I am SO sorry to hear about Jake. Ugh, that is so awful. Understand your decision to not put him through treatments..I would do the same. Glad they gave him something to help with the pain. HUGS! I hope you feel better, too!

Ginny – Woohoo! Nice run on Monday! YES, you channeled me! Didn’t you feel great the rest of the day? Smile Uh oh, hope you aren’t coming down with something. Good like to GD tonight! Have fun spectating..hopefully it gets to the 50’s!

Diane – Sorry you aren’t feeling yourself. It seems that everyone is depressed about the weather! Everyone can move to RVA. Haha. We are supposed to have some big winds here this weekend, too. We will be in the 80’s though. Oh trust me, Ruger gets very spoiled  Smile My sweet baby. I did not enjoy getting up early today!

Docket – EW. Your run will be the highlight of your day  Smile

Karen – Sooner than I realize, huh? I was thinking that I wouldn’t see that number for 2-3 years. LOL. That will make me happy if I see it sooner! I am putting together a very tough training cycle the next go around. Nebraska marathon?? That sounds like a fun one. Have a good run! I am jealous of your retirement life.

Sandy – Nice 4 this morning. Yay for catching up with an old friend  Smile Sorry about the loss last night. Ugh. I would slap that one girl in the face. LOL. I guess you handled it the better way. I feel like that season was so short!! So, would you do it again? Did you decide anything on coaching track? I am laughing at your response to the movie  Smile Don’t be worried about Fargo being warm. I am thinking COOOOOOOOOL thoughts! I am still laughing about the chafing. Yes I shave for the doctor! I feel pressure to be smooth. Hahaha. I guess they aren't looking at my legs Wink I wonder if she will say something about my snack chafe. LOL.

Tessa – Ugh, sorry you still aren’t feeling well! You need some rest! Are you going to WFH tomorrow? Speaking of pets, have you been fostering any kitties lately?? Hard for me to leave for lunch. Especially with this road show planning. Blah. Ruger will have to hold it!

Off to a meeting then to the doctor! Hopefully a nap later!
