7.1 for me. Heading to core class soon.

61+ miles for me this week! Glad that is done! Run was okay today. Not the best - humidity is up and my joints were hurting. It was a big run week and I am ready for a rest day and a cut back week! Smile

Its going to be in the 80's today. I think HCBF wants to take his motorcycle out for a while. I may head over to Old Navy - need some run tops. I also need to clean one of our guest rooms. Still has some of my move boxes. They just need to taken up to the attic and the room picked up a bit.

We have a sushi date with my parents tonight. I was hoping for a family free weekend (LOL, sometimes you just dont want to see anybody!) - but they are leaving for Amsterdam next week! They wanted to grab a bite before they left.

Docket - So a good ol’ rest day for you yesterday? Yay! Smile

Tessa - I do not make garlic bread from scratch but OMG…that sounds so good!! YUM. Glad you ended up staying home yesterday to get some rest. I still would have ran, too Smile what are you up to this weekend? Hopefully resting!

Margaret - You had spaghetti last night, too? Looks like you were fueling for your 20 today Smile Hope you are rocking it out there!

Run4kupcakes - Good luck this weekend!

Cathy - Send DD our good vibes!!! Smile

      Karen - Safe travels today!!!

Kilmisters - Good luck on the 10K!

Sandy - Hope you are rocking OUT that 20! Smile

      Happy Weekend!

Morning!  I have 7 miles tonight and thinking of skipping OTF.  It's hills day and I really don't want to do that, especially after the assholes woke me up at 6:30am.  I might just head back to bed and nap.  Need to start packing for my work trip next week too.  So weights if I don't go to OTF.

        Liz, nice 7 and mileage.

          Good Morning!

I ran 3 yesterday afternoon.  Looks like it will be a TM weekend for me, we are in this midst of a snow, rain, sleet, ice and windstorm   I am really hoping we don't lose power.  Heck, maybe I'll just go back to bed and sleep until Monday morning lol

Lizzie - awesome running week for you!!  Have a nice dinner with your parents and enjoy your day!

Damaris - I'm with you on the nap!!  Have a great day!

          Will check in later!!

LC....hell, sleep until July, that's what I'm going to do.

I have done absolutely nothing since Wednesday.  Went home sick and didn't feel well on Thursday either, Friday okay, but just didn't feel like it.  Today I am working, maybe tomorrow.  I feel very behind in training for the Half May 20th

4 TM miles and a good weight workout, I even did some stretches afterward - wasn't too bad since I caught up on some Bravo TV!

Gonna make some choc chip cookies since it's a good day for baking.  BF and I might head to the Brewery later this afternoon (it's only about 1.5 miles away), they are telling people not to travel today.  We were going to go to a movie and out to eat out of town today but I put a kabosh on that.  BF's like, "oh, we'll be fine, blah blah blah".  Sorry, but I don't do ice and why chance it?  Men!

Karen - good luck Monday, can't wait to read about it!!

Any other racers today?  Tons of races were cancelled in Michigan today, really a bummer since they don't do refunds.

So, the trail rune is done Smile Didn't push the pace, just tried to enjoy it; the best part (and the most encouraging one before next month's trail HM) was that at no point it felt too awful. Or awful at all. Of course, the run included some uphill walking, but w the amount of people, narrow trails and some REALLY steep climbs - it was unavoidable. The trails themselves were amazing! Distance ended up being 11.2km. So, yes, I am being cautiously optimistic [1) because of modest pace and some walking 2) 11k and 21k is two different worlds]

Hey folks. Just checking in real quick from my phone to say it was a run fail. Classic bonk. Thank goodness for an awesome BIL to rescue me at 10mi. Underfueled from the start. 2-3 inches of snow didn’t help but wind was at our backs which was decent. After all these years you wld think I would learn. Last week I had wayyyyy too many beers and ate dinner at 7pm. 14 mi wasn’t a prob. Yesterday no beer and had a sandwich for lunch/dinner. Bonkarooooooo Note to self: this cat needs beer for hydration and carbs haha. Ah well. Haven’t even read. Will catch up more tmrw. Must refuel with beer cuz clearly that works. Oh. And it is now a blizzard. Swell.

Glad I skipped OTF since my sinuses are feeling more painful now.  Ran 4.25 miles and called it a day.  I should not forget my Flonase nightly and this is the second time this week, sigh.

Laura, nice 3.  Go get that TM weekend!

                      Ginny, feel better!

Laura, nice 4.  Enjoy the baking!

                      Elina, congrats!

Sandy, sorry about the bonk.  Sad

In Boston. Almost missed my connection due to weather delay. As I was running for the second flight I twisted my ankle. It still hurts. It is okay when I walk but throbs a little when just sitting and definitely hurts if I put pressure on it. Doesn't look swollen. I'm going to bed and hoping I wake tomorrow and it feels better.

Had dinner with some friends tonight (I love Boston on marathon weekend) and as we were chatting in the lobby of one friend's hotel someone walks by and says "Karen?" Damaris, it was Julia! Reminded me of the time you ran into her on the streets of NYC before the marathon. Tomorrow not much planned except staying off my ankle and dinner with my cousin who I randomly ran into at the airport this afternoon.

Weather looks even worse for Monday. Colder now, with 30 mph headwinds. Sigh. I can complain about the weather but this damn ankle better not stop me from running in it. I will be seriously upset if I came all this way - and bought the jacket - and can't run.

Sorry, no personals, too tired and too much feeling sorry for myself. I heard a bunch of people planning on flying in from MSP today couldn't get out. Weather...

I love the power of virtual friends. Karen in a hotel in Boston, someone walks by, does a double take, and says "Karen?" Remember waiting to be seated at a brunch place in Bethesda in 2012 and a couple of people walk into the restaurant and say "Tessa?" We have such a network!

Laura, were the races cancelled because it's cold? Can't get my mind around that. 85 degrees here today.

Liz, homemade garlic bread is very easy and delicious. Take loaf of French bread, cut in half horizontally. Place on cooky sheet. Take 2-3 cloves of garlic, chop them up. Melt 1 stick of butter in saucepan. Add garlic cloves and sauté  until garlic is gold and smells good. Spoon butter and garlic onto cut sides of loaf of bread. Put in 300* oven for about 5-10 minutes until slightly browned, then cut into chunks and serve. Use the pan to heat the spaghetti sauce, which will benefit from an extra shot of garlicky butter.

Ugly day. All sorts of wind. Having my pre race breakfast and trying to figure out the best clothes combo. At least I won at the casino!

                                Rest day for me!

Didn't sleep as long as I wanted to..but glad today is a rest day! My tendonitis in both feet is really flaring up today. Lots of foam rolling to be done today!

Dinner with my parents last night was SO GOOD. I love sushi, especially on a warm day. They are excited for their trip - I am jealous. I told them to bring me back some edibles. LOL Wink I guess my dad went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and something flagged in his blood work. He has to go back for more tests right before their trip. Something about his red blood cell count and they think it may be possible he is bleeding somewhere. I am trying not to be concerned but that is hard when your dad is 84.

Not too much planned for the day. We are supposed to get heavy rain today with severe thunderstorms. It has been super humid the past 2 days so that wouldn't surprise me. I just hope they are all done and over with before my run in the morning!

Docket - Where are you going next week?? Nice job on the treadmill since you aren’t feeling so well! I heard on the news that allergies are particularly bad this year because its a double dose of pollen since March was cool. I am not sure if that applies to FL though… Smile

Laura - Nice miles yesterday! Ugh on your weather. The mid-west is not catching a break. YUM chocolate chip cookies!! Snowy weather is perfect baking weather. I have a hard time getting motivated to bake in the Summer time.

Ginny - Awe Ginny, sorry that you have been sick! Don’t get down about not working out in a few days..you have been sick! Not much you can do about that. Are you still planning on running in TX??

Kilmisters - Congratulations and great job on the half!! WOOHOO!! Was this your first ever trail half? You did great!!

Sandy - Oh no I am so sorry the run didn’t go as planned yesterday. Now you know that you must have beer before a big run! Smile I read somewhere that when its really cold outside you should actually fuel more than usual. So maybe that had something to do with it? Ugh, sorry Sad This can be a cut week! You have plenty of other chances for another one Smile

Karen - I am really hoping that your ankle is just a niggle. How is it feeling today? Really crazy that you ran into so many people at the airport! I am sure the atmosphere in Boston is just awesome right now. Stay off that ankle and hope you have a good dinner tonight! I am not going to comment on the weather…ugghhhh Sad

Tessa - Thanks for the recipe! I saved it!! I am going to try that next time. My mouth is watering.

Run4kupcakes - GOOD LUCK TODAY! WOOHOO for winning at the casino. Maybe that is a sign Wink

Kathryn - I have been thinking about you!!! Hope all is okay in your world!!

                                Happy Sunday!
