Very tight start so had to run with short stride for 1/8th mile until space opened up, also a little fast. Felt great going down the hill, and thought 'hey, I can average 6min/mile pace for this thing!'. Reality set in at the turnaround when we had to go back up the hill. Major suckage. Not bad though. My legs were very sore this morning from not running for two weeks then getting in my first run on Thursday. Took 3 advils to allow me to race (I know it's not good and it's the first time I've done that). Everything feels great right now. Ready to train again.
