Came in third. Rolling start and had to pass quite a few people that were let go in front of me. Ran the first mile a bit quick (5:16) but it was downhill, with the wind, and there were people to pass. Finally pulled into third place at the top of the hill and then two quick turns and we were running into the wind. Second mile was 5:23 and the third mile was 5:29 which represents a little bit of slowdown but more the influence of the wind on the third mile.
Warmed up well and am VERY happy with a time this fast, this early in the training cycle. I feel like the up-tempo long runs have gotten me into good shape and I'll be able to drop this time pretty quickly with some workouts and sharpening.
