Like my 5k two weeks ago, this "race" was more of a test of where I am fitness-wise than an actual race. I would have liked to have run it faster, obviously, but the severe fade the last three miles suggests I ran it at the correct pace and effort.
Speaking of those miles, that was pure suck ass! My glutes, quads and hamstrings were fried and I had nothing left to give. In fact, so done was I afterwards that a volunteer had to track me down to give me that stupid medal!
Anyway, I am sore in places I haven't been in a very long time. Hopefully I didn't push things too far, too soon. We'll see how Tuesday's run goes.
