Elmhurst Early Bird- 2nd overall/team went 1-19
Hot/humid. Got out well but got dropped a bit by dhru and finch when I settled. Stayed essentially by myself for most of the race after that...finch like 15 meters ahead and dhru a little further. Caught finch on the 2nd loop hill but he gapped me again after that. Not sure on 1st mile but 2nd mile was like 10:04. On the 3rd loop I worked up to finch and caught him at the hill. Kept pushing as I tried to close and ended up closing the race off fairly well. Definitely did not feel good or run particularly good/fast but I built through everything and was catching dhru at the end. Overall, not a bad start on tired legs after a couple solid weeks of preseason workouts and absolutely no competition on a tight course with a bunch of turns/dips/sidewalk
