CCIWs- Team 1st and 45th consecutive W- 5th guy and felt good!
Last ever XC conference meet at St James. Weather was near perfect with low 50s temp, partly sunny, and little wind. Got out hard and settled into a faster rhythm. Not sure on any splits but have heard my first mile was roughly 455. Dhru went from the gun ahead and then it was our pack a little behind. I worked within the pack for a while and then found myself up in the front during the 3rd loop and was setting the pace for our group. Was still feeling pretty smooth at this point as well but when we started the 4th loop and smokey flew by with his move I wasnt able to call. Really wish I couldve embraced that pain a little better between 6-7k. Still finished strong and caught back up to nolan at the end but I'd like to be stronger the last 2k. Made sure to finish next to nolan since I wasnt going to outkick a teammate. Ended up with a lifetime 8k PR-given the regionals course last year was likely short. Team destroyed as well: 1-9 and then 11th. All 10 guys in the team race 2458 or faster which was crazy fast. strong team effort and great momentum(individually and teamwise) going into the rest of the postseason
