Ran a nice conservative race. It was really a test to see how my left calf did specifically and my calves and muscles overall now that I am taking Crestor. Went well. I'd planned to run about 8:45 pace for first half and then pick it up if I felt good. I felt very good first half of the race. A little slow on mile 5, but picked it up and got into a nice pace around 8:00/mile. I ran for much of the race with a guy named Paul who has lost over 100 pounds in the last year. A year ago he weighed more than 300 lbs. I think he said 345. We ran from about mile 3 till the 10 mile point. He couldn't keep up the pace then and I went on ahead. I was looking for him at the finish but didn't spot him. Either he finished close behind me and I missed him before I started watching for him or something. I hope he finished and is OK. He is inspiring.
