Notes
The 2012 Boston Marathon, a sweat fest of epic proportions. Temps near 80 at the start and sunny conditions, climbing to near 90 degrees made this my version of Chicago 2007. So I slowed down the pace right from the start. Run included 3 bathroom breaks (mile 1, 9, and 18), which resulted in surges to try to make up for lost time (dumb mistake). Remained steady through Newton Hills, but slowed down to a "power-walk" after mile 22 (quads were trashed) as I kept a bag of ice on my head and under my running cap to keep me cool. Started to run again once I hit the 40K timing mat, and finished relatively strong--8:12 for mile 26, and an additional 1:31 from 26 to the finish line. I survived, LOL!
