did a longer warmup run before swimming in the deep pool. had a less desperate swim. focused on counting strokes, kicking, rolling more to breathe. did about 400 yds with short breaks between laps, then went to shallow pool for a 300 followed by practice laps of back and side stroke, finished with 2 more laps free
