Notes
Monique and I ran the Gettysburg Half Marathon on a moderately hilly course.
We ran together for 10 miles or so, with Monique tending to drift to a faster pace and me tending to pull back on the pace. The compromise turned out to be good enough to achieve a sub 2 hour finish. By the 10 mile mark I was feeling doubtful about holding on to reach our hoped for finish time, so told her not to wait for me. This meant that I drifted back about 50 yards while walking parts of the last couple of climbs. Happily the last mile and a half are mostly downhill and I held on to finish 15 seconds behind Monique.
