Notes

Notre Dame Invite. Ran in the open race. Got out perfectly with Matt and Mason. We came through in 5:06 according to FAT. I heard a 2 mile split of 10:26. We came through half way together in 13:11 according to FAT then were able to stay together until 3 miles then Mason started to pull away. Matt went with a little with him and started to pull away from me. Right after 6k I caught back up to Matt. We ran together pretty much the rest of the race. He ended up beating me by 5 seconds. Mason ran 26:42. Oram and Jordan both ran well and we were all able to finish higher than our place at the mile. I wanted to run faster given how fast the course was today (hard as a rock, but a bit windy), I feel this was the lower end of my window, but I was happy with how I competed. I felt pretty flat, but I didn't know I was racing until Wednesday and I did 8xduchess on Tuesday. I was not geared to run that fast today. Will be running Lansing next week because I am missing Oshkosh, but I plan to take Sunday off, focus on recovery, and well have a good tune up workout. It was not a great race, but not a bad race. I felt it was another B-B- race. I did run 1:45 faster than freshman year...yikes! I do like where I am at though. I feel my next two races (Lansing and Conference finals) are going to be my best race of the year. I have been decently consistent (not fast, but consistent)so far, but I know there is more in the tank. Just have to get fresh, recovered, and ready to crush it. Just going to keep sticking with the program and trust I bust a fast one when it counts.
