3k at GVSU Tune up. A great way to end indoor season! Got out well and got in a rhythm. This kid from ferris took it out quick, but we reeled him back in after about 3 laps. We were clicking off 54s which was 9:00 pace. The one ferris kid started to fall off, so another took over. He ran 2 53s, but then started to slow down. Brett took the lead and kept 54s. Coming up to 600 to go, I took the lead and went on to win the heat. Last 300 was a 49 and my last 400 was probably a 66.x. It felt awesome to close like this after last weeks miserable last 1000. I just stayed relaxed on Brett's shoulder until 600 to go and was just feeling it. It was nice to finally break this barrier in the 3k as I feel it has evaded me for too long. Such a satisfying race!
