I had never timed myself running one mile, so I went to the track today to do that. After an easy warmup run, I ran a mile as fast as I could. Quarter mile splits: 1:24.58, 1:36.81, 1:32.84, 1:24.14. Total for one mile: 5:58.37. I wanted to break six minutes, so I am quite happy, even if the splits aren't very consistent. Now maybe I have a better idea of how to do this in case I want to try it again some day.
