I ran until 8.4 miles, then one of the red trail hills made me walk. By that point the "achillies protector" on my shoes was rubbing a blister on my left achillies, so I had to stop and pull my sock up a lot the last few miles. My left sock (low-rise Brooks) kept shrinking down into my shoe. :-( When I got home, I noticed that my shoe had actually worn a bloody spot on my left achillies, and my sock and shoe had absorbed most of the blood. :-(
70 degrees at finish.
