I ran the old Cougar Crawl course. I started off slow and felt sluggish initially. But after 2 miles or so I felt like speeding up, so I finished fast. My mile splits were: 8:10, 7:42, 6:36, 4:52 (0.1mi). According to SportsTracks my last mile was 6:19, but I didn't really speed up significanly until about 2.5mi. My last 0.6mi was run in 3:24, which is a 5:40 pace.
I need to start doing a least one fast 5K a week to get back into 5K race shape.
