I led from the gun. By mile 1, I had over a minute lead. It was hard to keep pushing, especially after yesterday's 10 mile race. But the weather was perfect, the course was flat, and I had the security/pace car in front of me. I did the best I could. This was my 2nd fastest 5K ever; I was only 6 seconds off my PR. It makes me wonder how much faster I could have run if I'd skipped yesterday's 10 Miler. I'll never know, of course, but I do know that running fast feels SO MUCH better than running long.
