Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department 5 miler. Small race with few fast runners and no elites. Tough, hilly course. Big but short uphill right at the beginning, then the rest of mile 1 was downhill. Mile 2 was mostly flat. The rest was net uphill, with lots of turns and one uphill after another. The guy who won zoomed off early. I ran most of the race in 3rd about 20-30 feet behind the guy in second. I expended some energy to catch him at 4 miles. Then a couple minutes later, around 4.5 miles, someone came out of nowhere to zoom past us. I let him go but the guy who had been in second tried (unsuccessfully) to follow. So I ended up fourth. I could have been second but didn't dig very deep today.
