Dash4Dad 4 miler in Pentagon City. Official time 24:08. 9th place overall. Course was billed as mostly flat and fast, but in reality it was up and down the whole way. My effort was pretty consistent, so my pace variations mostly reflect uphills and downhills. The biggest hill was shortly after the beginning (up) and before the end (down). The rest of the course had longer, more gradual hills. I pretty clearly could have run under 24 minutes today on a flat course. But I wasn't hoping for any particular time today and tend to run better relaxed, so I enjoyed the ups and downs. Worth doing again with the same attitude. Didn't look at my watch at 5k, which wasn't marked on the course. But based on my time at 3 miles and comparison with some 5k races, I guess that my 5k time was around 18:44.
