Leesburg 10k (Potomac River Running). Let that be my worst race this year. God, it was awful. Even during the first mile it was clear that I wasn't having a good day. Soon after it became clear that I was having quite a bad day. Around four miles I rallied somewhat and tried at least to keep it under 7 minutes for the remaining miles. Some steep hills screwed that up, but I managed to pick it up for mile six. My problem today was both mental and physical. I might also blame the weather a bit: the dew point was around 72 (light rain). The course was also long. But still. Perhaps I need to take a day off before all races?
