Notes

Fabulous long run in perfect running weather. Two little tricks really paid off today. The first was your tip this week to be mindful and run in the moment. I spent virtually no time thinking about what mile I was in and kept focusing on the fact that I was running really at that particular moment. I got into a nice rhythm & I pretty much ran the entire distance in a flow state & it did not seem like over 2 1/2 hours of running. At the halfway point I commented to someone that I felt like I had run only 2 miles, not 8 and the 2nd half of the run was even more comfortable than the first half. The other tip from Greg McMillan was not to force the pace, but just ease into a run and let the pace come to me. That pretty much describes how I ran today -- a nice steady first mile & then after that I kept the effort very consistent & machine like & the pace just picked up on its own all the way to the finish. Completed pedestals w/ lifts x 2, Grant Green routine, leg circuit 2 and Core X after the run. The V sit exercises in Core X were much more difficult today although I'm sure that had a lot to do with it coming after today's extended running.
