Decided to stretch out the hard running tonight. Hoped to run 3 mile tempo but ended up doing a 1 1/2 mile and 1 mile intervals at tempo pace.. Was pretty gassed after the mile and a half at tempo pace so I took 3-4 minutes recovery before running the last mile at tempo pace. Was able to increase the pace during the 1 1/2 mile to near 8:50 by the end despite the discomfort. And after the rest, held the below 8:50 pace during the last tempo mile. All in all I felt pretty good about tonite's work out & feel I pretty much where I need to be at the start of the new training schedule.
