Well executed tempo run. Warm up mile picked up from last night's run and was relaxed, steady & sharp, a good prelude for the faster tempo miles. Ran fairly conservatively in the first mile & a half of the tempo section, using it to find and settle in on "half marathon" effort/pace. By the end of the second "tempo" mile, I had established a nice, steady running rhythm that I knew I could hold for the remaining four miles. Felt a little discomfort just before the half way mark, but cadence & breathing had not varied at that point so I pretty much ignored the discomfort & continued at the same effort. Had enough left to pick up the effort a little & finish the final half mile with a moderate kick. Tired at the end but not depleted. Cool down mile was a relaxed and easy effort after the tempo run. Completed full set of exercise routines after the run.
