The plan was 4 or 5 miles tempo at comfortably hard effort with one mile warm up & one mile cool down. Comfortably hard section was so-so and a bit of a struggle. Warm up was comfortable and relaxed. Eased into a good comfortably hard effort by the 2nd half of the 1st mile of the tempo section & maintained that effort & pace comfortably for about 2 1/2 miles. During the last mile & a half of the tempo portion, I did feel some fatigue & legs felt a bit heavy. The heaviness resulted in some slow down in pace during the final two miles of the tempo section so I ended the tempo section at 4 miles. On a positive note, I did maintain the comfortably hard effort to the finish of that section even though it was a struggle to do so.. Cool down mile was slow and easy effort & legs felt ok at the easier effort.
