Great start to 2015. Felt good at the start of the run and after finishing the warm up mile in a very easy 9:17, choosing to do the tempo run was a very easy decision. Ran the first half mile of the tempo portion a little fast. Then settled into a nice & steady running rhythm for the next 3 miles. I ran that 3 mile portion at "half marathon effort", but it was still a controlled effort & I was holding back just a bit. At the 3 1/2 mile mark, I picked up the effort & pace a little & picked it up a 2nd time for last 3/4s of a mile. Finished very strong & could have run several more miles at that effort/pace. Cool down mile was a steady and relaxed effort. Completed entire set of exercises post run.
