Lunchtime interval run. Surprise...I got 3 weekday runs in even after missing Monday with hip pain. I'll rest tomorrow and do a long run on Sunday morning - but it will have to be at the gym as I am on kid duty this Sunday. My interval run today was on the treadmill with the following: 1.0% incline, recovery speed 5.5 mph, interval speed 7.5 mph. Started with an easy mile (at 5.5mph) and then each mile after that started with an interval (first one 1/4 mile, second one 1/2 mile, third one 3/4 mile) and finished out the rest of the mile with recovery (3/4 mile, then 1/2 mile, then 1/4 mile). I added an extra 1/4 mile of recovery at the end. It's nice to know I can hold an 8 min/mile pace for 3/4 of a mile after 3 miles are in the tank...I could be ready for a 5K pretty soon!
