Managed to not run fast, and not miss the chance to spin for the lottery money. Still should have taken it easier, or stopped for some hspu or something. The 8k course passes the pumphouse twice where I could have gotten 2 sets, but I was embarassed to do it. It wound up being a very interesting run with Dan McNair and a really fit young girl who kept a very mature pace for her age. Young intelligent athletic discipline seems like a real diamond in the rough. I feel like I'm seeing a rare species or something when i encounter it in the wild.
