Notes

Great day for the race. Very sunny, but a breeze kept us from baking. Views at the top all the way to Boston. Great training run for Mt. Washington. Nye improved 5 minutes and I improved a couple minutes from 2012, the last year the race was held. More important than time, I felt my effort was very successful. I maintained a very efficient and high workload and managed leg cramps very well on the last climb. The clock doesn't really measure these things. I can't run races like this for time without severely damaging myself. Walking down the mountain I experienced the worst calf and foot cramps of my life, toe-curling agony, so I know I pushed to my limits.
