Awesome run and great end to a week's vacation. The pemi is still nice and cold. Nye ran this for his first time, with over 300 other people. This race is huge, these mountain resorts are becoming amusement parks for the insane. Arrived and parked next to a couple carloads of very nice girls from Portsmouth Crossfit who were dressed basically in their underwear. Every race day should just like this.

There's no reason to complain about my terrible time today. I haven't run for the last three weeks, due to a recurring sore foot. I've been training in the gym but just didn't have enough mental focus to guard the foot while running on all the steep climbing. I kept up a steady power-hike until upper walking boss, feeling rather nauseous during the hard work. Probably pigged out too much trying not to leave leftovers at camp. Stats are 6 minutes slower than the season I was hit by a car, and 36 minutes slower than my best time in 2009.

I was ready to seriously attack this three weeks ago, but a little floating thingy between my 2nd and 3rd phalanges got poked by a rock. This first got sore in March, then calmed down. Whatever this is, it's got to go. Not looking foward to months of effort to focus medical attention on it.
