Notes

Beautiful run, returning to my favorite hills after a long absence. 32:20 to the Barnes overlook, then 9:47 for the mile to the Bluff. I realized somewhere along this hill, well, many things but ... now it escapes me. Or the words simply cannot express it. Sometimes the aerobic activity allows a depth of understanding that I haven't had in quite some time. Perhaps it is a sense of balance relayed on a autonomous level that allows dispositions I haven't had for years, defeating age. The aged state of the body is unable to reproduce the thoughts of the younger. Refer to Damazio and his theory of dispositional references for more detail. Yes, heavy stuff on this run. I had imagined a discussion with my boss about Gilles Deleuze's writings, about Spinoza's ideas of monadic essence and the vinculum. Haven't had a run like this in a long, long, long time. Twisted my ankle at mile 6.5 or so. Ran for about .25 miles before walking through some rocks, then ran the rest. I expect I'll have to take the next week easy, and no more trails for a couple weeks.
