Notes

Chose to head up the log cabin side instead of a low-key Whiting run, because I saw a car parked there that looked like Nye's. Not a terrible decision. I kept up a running gate further than I have for a long long time. Some guys at the first very steep section stood aside for me, so I had to perform, and made it all the way to the first sharp jutting stair-like stone. Power hiked well to the top in 14:14 and struck out across the escarpment toward the chairlift. At one point, a jarring step with my right foot caused some abdominal pain that was concerning and brought me to a walk. Coming to the fork leading down to the B17, I decided to shorten the run and headed down. On the downslope, something snapped in my left calf and I was unable to run for awhile. Turned back the way I came, managing a short running stride on the gentle slope after that steep section I ran up at the start. Real bummer. Some sort of high calf tear on the eccentric, not starchy.
