Notes

Excellent run, until 141. I was dehydrated and very thirsty, and guzzled about 18 oz. of water. Climbing Mt. Tom I puked it all out, struggled to the top and had some diarrhea (no problem as I brought TP) Ed was very patient while I barely got my legs under me to run the downhills and walk the steep slopes the rest of the way. This could have been done in 6:30 or so, if I hadn't spilt the tank all over the trail. It had gotten really hot, seeing all that fluid soak into the dirt was tough. Baking iin the sun on the Mt. Tom Escarpment was worse though. My time is from the start of the M+M to its end at Underwood Ave. I'm not sure where Ed timed from, he was a couple minutes ahead of me, having stuck by my side until the last downhill. Huge thanks to Ed, couldn't have done this one without him. Next day additions: Splits: 23.12.34 Start to Route 57 (23.12.34 Net Lap 1), 45.42.91 to Route 20 (01:08.55 Net Net Lap 2), 53.26.01 to Bush Notch in (02:02.21 Net Lap 3), 14.31.86 to Bush Notch out (02:16.53 Net Lap 4), 47.15.26 to Route 202 (03:04.08 Net Lap 5), 01:07.03 to Route 141 in (04:11.11 Net Lap 6), 21.18.23 to Route 141 out (04:32.29 Net Lap 7), 2:37.05 to Underwood Finish (07:09.27 Net Lap 8). Reflecting on all that on one page, I see huge times at our water stops. Bush Notch didn't seem such a break, but 141 was a real long time and the comparison makes sense. That was when I drank over 20 oz of water. I remember debating whether to hit my watch for a puke split, at 5:05 when I was ready to continue on. Based on the long aid stops and the long hike across the Escarpment, I'd say we could have done 6 hours. I was only a little dehydrated at 141, my pee was just a bit dark. I think I got seriously dehydrated after I puked. All morning at work today I was parched, drank twice as much as usual.
