Notes

No chance to warm up, so hard to leave work on time these days. I overcame a nasty spasm of my back at mile 1.5 and kept ahead of Dan McNair. Felt good until a nasty side stich in the last mile, and Dan was waiting to make his move. I struggled vainly to beat him and possibly keep my lead in the Grand Prix standings. Finished ahead by a couple seconds. Unfortunately, Zac Hine showed up today and ran close to 5:00 pace. This drove down everyone's points in the Grand Prix, and since I volunteered and did not run the race last week, my ultra-low score this weeks gets applied to last week. A week where Dan scored very well for running very well. So, basically I'm behind by about 100 points, beyond hope of competing in the series, and free. I can now race for the simple pleasure of beating Dan McNair, with no concern for stinking Grand Prix points!
