Awesome run. It began to rain lightly 15 mins. before 6, and wasn't letting up. Radar showed severe thunderstorms immanent, and so I headed out since I couldn't wait it out. By mile 3 it was a downpour, dark with thunder and lightning. Mile four had standing water everywhere just from the rain, never mind places where the runoff washed across the paved trail. Frogs everywhere. Totally out of practice, I forgot to check each mile split. Half-way was 40:05, so I ran the second half a minute faster. I felt sore before running, and the last 3 were a little sore. Achilles pain at mile 5 prompted me to down a pair of endurolytes, which seemed to help. I loaded 2 FedEx Ground trucks this morning, and transferred 2 pallets of 25, 45 lb. boxes of frozen chicken, this evening at the C&S Testing/Hazing, so I should be feeling spent. I'm very hungry and glad that all my stride-correcting efforts seemed to work - so far anyway.
