A run with Nye.

We stopped at the pumphouse to drill basic bjj stuff I haven't been able to do at the gym like armbar, kimura, triangles. At the top of the mountain we drilled takedowns. I can't swim under for the leg with the injured arm while drilling armbars, so left arm attack only. I don't think I want to attack kimuras from the bottom, but they should be safe. We didnt try and finish triangles, which was a mistake. Need to try and reach for the shin, etc which should be fine.. Best news is that I think I can have a partner drill on me without much risk at all. I began to overcome my fear of forward and backward rolls and found no real issue. Takedown-wise, I can't defend singles as well on the left side. I seem to be able to attack them from either side. I can't attack doubles with that shoulder, so have to attack with the right shoulder.

The run was good, but my shoulder was a bit sore from drilling and I took the downhill easy. Nye and I pushed each other well climbing back up to the finish. I had given him some power-hike coaching that he was applying any time I saw him powerhiking. Looked 100% better than the typical.
