Notes

Fun times. Possibly the most aggressive course yet, if a little short. The uphill terrain was on par with the Killington beast. Passed people while bear crawling on the steepest faces on the first lap. Chris Dunn was at the summit with his cowbell, right next to a difficult 2 to 4 foot rock ledge everyone had to file over. On the first lap, I konged up and over passing a few people. Unfortunately I tried to down a date at the water stop immediately afterward and had to stop for a minute to avoid choking to death. Could not breathe with it in my mouth, spat half of it out. This contributed to my negative splits, 38:36 and 37:57. Made up about 20 places on my second lap. Took a seat in the mud that was much more slippery on the second lap, slid a good 5 feet and bounced right back up. Opened up my stride as I always do at the end of this race and had a great sprint with Daniel Moore, who beat me by a tenth of a second. Nye was only a minute behind me.
