It was much warmer than it has been and rainy. This was a good opportunity to get used to those elements. I need to pay attention to trim off layers when it is warm. Heat coupled with the humidity and just swampy conditions kind of got to me. Good chance of similar weather on race day.
I had a false start on this one after bumping into an AT hiker and having a mile long chat. His trail name was Poncho and he said I should be Ghost Runner. I may hang on to that one. Once I said good bye and happy trails I reset watch and started over. I also walked once across the bridge because I caught up with a possum that was crossing, I gave him a chance to stay ahead of me. Poor little guy was waddling as fast as he could. This makes the pace look slow in middle, it wasn't just because I was suffering.
