Today's goal not to be chicked. Seriously though I was a little anxious about hitting my goal splits on the three mile tempo. To my surprise the pace came very easy today (31% relative humidity!). Optimal weather conditions didn't hurt. Tempo splits: 7:00, 6:49, 6:28. On the first one I noticed I was running a little fast, and I forced myself to keep the tempo but not go too fast. I sometimes go out too fast on these. When I came in at 7:00 I was happy it was close to the target and the pace just kept getting easier. On the last one I let myself pick it up but I didn't go all out except for the last tenth of a mile just to finish strong. On the last half mile of the overall run I let myself run fast up the hill. Felt really, really strong.
