Notes

Overall I'm pretty happy, I finished. My legs definitly had a quicker race than this in them but I just missed a bit on the fueling. I don't think I ate enough at the aid stations and relied too heavily on gels which made me sick. It could have been the cold I've been fighting too interfering with my ability to eat properly. But anyway I survived it.

I put the avg temp. 29 at start, high of about 50 during the day.

Actual distance of the race, 51.2 but I knew this going in so I wasn't surprised by what I saw on the watch.

11/19/2012: Follow-up. Surprised by how sore my arms have been. Both sides on the outside, feels like shoulder muscle. They hurt as bad as the legs. Core sore but not nearly as bad. I've been neglecting my upper body fitness. I need to refocus a bit on upper body strength and core work. It all factors in. Also reading a lot about race fueling. What I bumped up against isn't uncommon. In the future I need to continue to experiment with what works and what doesn't on super long runs. I know bananas work well.
