Notes

This was a really tough run. We started it in a thunderstorm and super misty humid and foggy up on MD heights. Couldn't see at all so super slow going especially for me over the rocks coming back down. I did try a different type of shoe, Brooks Cascadia. They didn't have great traction on the wet rocks, I think because of the aggressive lugs and little surface of actual rubber contact area. They did however feel secure and I didn't trip as much compared to the wider Altra Lone Peaks. My arch in my left foot did get sore, attributing this to first time running in shoes with heal drop in a really long time. Will continue to monitor.

The timing of the cutback week seemed spot on. Legs pretty flat all week. Heat and humidity have taken a bit of a toll too and how I generally feel on these runs. I have work to do to mentally stay positive and keep pushing. Randy has been very strong the past few weeks. He gets in the mode towards the end of these things where he says he "could run all night". Super happy to see him doing so well. Going to miss running with him regularly.
