I ran this run on heart rate and the Stryd power. The idea was to keep it all aerobic to start getting the pacing dialed in for 50 and 100 miles. The chest HR strap worked a lot better. I was able to easily keep it below 140 for the first few hours. I had a late start and it started to get really hot, almost 90. It became impossible to keep my HR down even at really low Stryd power numbers. Just did the best I could to keep it below 150. Had to really slow down. Honestly if I would have run this without looking at HR or power I would have cooked it and not gotten in 22. I'm glad I now have a tool to keep the pace correct over the long run.
