One of my best races in a long time. Tried to pace off Galen / others. Just to keep them close enough and hope that I had something the last 500m (from the final switchback). And that is pretty much what happened. I tried to stay within sight during that first loop (came through in about 905). Actually passed Ollie at about 3k, he must have been having a bad day. Started to lose sight of him at about the 2 mile marker and tried my hardest not to panic. But, just as I was starting to question myself, he started coming back. So did a few other people. And inside of 800m I knew I had him. Still, I held back and waited for the switchback. Then hammered it home. Likely went under 75 for the last 400m.
Most of the time I was thinking about staying light, taking it easy on the up / down hills. More focus on what what actually going on since I didnt have the watch.
