Notes

I guess I am upping my mileage to 40 now, at least for the time being. It was a little warmer today but still rather wonderful, and I decided to take it easy because I had a workout yesterday. Despite the beauty, though, I was angry. Angry at time, at the world, and the other usual culprits. But it was a good anger, a life-affirming anger, I think. I got some good thinking done. Running is probably the nearest I can get to meditative thinking in my daily life, since I have neither the time nor, unfortunately, the patience to do so otherwise. If only I had a pen and paper to write things down while I was running! I am able to produce far more ornate and elevated thoughts when I run, with the drawback being I can't think all too concentratedly and analytically since I am, well, running. Walking, I think, would be the happy medium. Nietzsche said once "All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking," and I might venture to add "but maybe even greater inspiration can be found while running."
