Notes

Did some trail running on a trail I hadn't been on before. It was shady, but still a pretty hot day out. At first I wasn't sure if my watch was recording the distance right, as I felt like I was going a lot faster than it said I was. The trail was a 5 mile loop, although it was really more than 5 miles, actually like 5.5 or so. I did it once fully and then mostly a second time but then came back on the road for the last mile, and only had to add on a little more. The trail was pretty cool, very rocky in places which was annoying and windy at times, but overall good. There were even some nice overlooks around 4 miles which I had never seen before. Around 6.8 I saw a pretty huge cottonmouth in the middle of the trail, and luckily I noticed it about 3-5 feet away from it so I was able to veer out of the way. After that I was definitely more conscious of looking for snakes. I also saw a turtle too, a mile or two after that. Even though this was one of my slowest runs to date I didn't actually feel that bad.
