About me:
I'm a late bloomer. I started everything later than expected and succeeded with great effort at most of what I went after, often taking multiple tries before I got there. I guess "better late than never" probably describes me pretty well.
Why do I run:
I'm always training for something. I do a half marathon or two in the spring and then again in the fall. Sometimes I'll do one in the summer as well if the weather is cool enough. In the winter, I run short distances when the weather permits just to keep my miles up. I pretty much hate the treadmill but accept it as a necessary evil. Having a goal keeps me moving, gives me a sense that there is a future Something waiting for me, and keeps my mind focused on achievement and hope. I think that's something us older folks need to stay happy.
Why I started running:
I started running because walking seemed too slow and all the cool people were runners. I was 52 years old at the time and am still too slow to be cool, but I do love running.
